The Pillows-- Japanese Rock So Good!

Hey there, had a student (Japanese college exchange program) introduce me to this band recently. They are just really good! Upbeat, talented, fun.

It seems they have been around for quite some time. Anyone heard of The Pillows before?

The Pillows did the music for the anime Furi Kuri aka FLCL.

The song "I Think I can" was my favorite.

Worth watching the anime just for the soundtrack.

but it's short and very quirky. Only like 6 episodes i think.

I've been a fan since something like... 2005 I think? And yes, it's because FLCL is one of the craziest, coolest shows I've ever seen. One of the greatest soundtracks imo.

Cool,, just finished Ep 1 (linked by grey580 ) Loved it! I agree so far the soundtrack is amazing.

This is the song she told me to look up-- so good!

I've always loved FLCL.

There are two more new seasons coming for this year and next year.

Good stuff.

Are The Pillows doing the soundtrack for those too? Honestly, I haven't really been able to see it since it was on Adult Swim all those long years ago, so idk if things have changed... My fiancee and I have been on an anime kick for months and that's one I definitely wanna introduce to him.

That is something I can't find info on. Yet.

But it's still coming back! And whatever soundtrack they use will most likely be rad.

I believe the director of that first video is the same as the one who made the video below of the French group Rita Mitsouko.

You can clearly see the similarities in the style, presentation, costumes and furnishings.

But it's all very cool, the both of them.
