Dear Darkness,

An infinite void I traversed. A timeless arena. A matrix laden throughout. I think they call them super strings. Some kind of skeleton for this frosty abyss. Zero kelvin. Einsteinian-Bose concentrate.

Albert would be proud.

As I made my way through the thicket of this green grid, a sound. A heart beat. My heart beat.

Pink Floyd's opening to Dark Side of the Moon came to mind.

"What did you dream? It's alright, we told you what to dream. You dreamed of a big star..."

"Welcome to the machine," my father's voice said.

I carried on for what felt like an eternity. Was this it?

"Am I dead" I echoed to myself.

Everything went dark.

I awoke.

I was five years of age.

The memories throughout this life I had lived. Dying handfuls of times, yet still "alive."

"The great Pyramid," my friend who had passed told me.

So much confusion. So many questions. Very few concrete answers.

"Much pain, but still time."

I wandered throughout that life wondering. Is any of this even real? Am I already dead? Is this a dream?

My father spoke again, "The world will be the way that you perceive it, my son."

I awoke.

"Another dream!" I exclaimed.

"No, it's all a dream. Row your boat" my inner voice whispered.

Years went by. Neverending coincidences. Glitches in reality. De ja vu. Precognition. Electromagnetic phenomenon.

Was this all just fantasy? Stuck in a landslide...escape from reality...

Years went by.

A vision. A dream? The void again. A white star. I touched it. Streams of light emanate. Galaxies...

2012 December 21. I see an old man. He is me. I am him. Myself from the future. A train station.

My father had a love for trains.

I awoke.

"What the....another dream?" I queried quizically.

Years go by. Bizarre happenings abound. Daily. Ceaseless.

"I must be dead" I say to myself.

A spirit molecule greets me one day. I partake.

Sure enough, the void takes me in again. The super strings. The heart beat.

I question. "What is going on?"

Years go by. Still strangeness. I experience heartbreak. I experience betrayal.

"Where am I?" I ask.

"What is this place?" I ponder.

No answer.

To this day I am left wondering. Hoping for an answer that may never come.

I seek solace. At this very moment. I find a piece of brilliance from Mr. Fulghum.

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death."

Maybe I am dead already. Maybe life is, but a dream.

All I really know for certain is that I love you; that everything is going to be okay.

Sincerely,

Dr. (redacted)

Wow, CreationBro...WOW!!

That was amazing. I'm serious, I loved it!!
I loved the way you wrote...the way you think...in fact, you had me at "Pink Floyd", lol.

I might think like that...but I sure can't write like that.
Wish I could give you more than this, but

Hi CreationBro!

Just checking in on your thread, giving out *bumps* today to get the stories back on the front page.

(I think Gordi said that was okay, he mumbled something like "Och nae jacy" so I took that as a yes, lol)

Hahaha...thank you!
You do know that if you engage me in conversation I feel it necessary to reply?

It's a rather cheap tactic for *bumping* your story, but hey...it works!

As an aside, this short story is based on a true story.

Living the space odyssey/oddity but the year is innocuous? Lol yeah not alone in that; remembering the light that lifts you in love lets you know where you are coming from, falling again that may or may not be your return depending on how things go. In the observer role; that does not depend on you but all of those "attached" if you take an active role you can become subject build karma and get stuck.

Only adding this because I knew it was a true story on reading it... the confirmation in your last post made me reply.

Reading this piece along with those in that other recent thread make me feel like I a reading from my own ream of journals. There is a flow that underlies your piece here and those in that thread that we met. The completeness you express thoughout has shared you solace with me at least. Thanks.

As others have said, wow. I appreciate the bleakness you were able to inpart of the characters languishing in dreamland's. I can definitely relate. Thanks, man
