There are elderly people who have trouble finding their IDs in their advanced age, but are legal US citizens and registered to vote. A lot of those folks can't navigate the process of getting a new one. Have you ever worked retail or customer service and had to explain basic things to an 80 year old? Now imagine if that person had been waiting in line for half an hour and didn't bring the right paperwork because they don't use the internet to find out what they need for a new ID.

Just pointing out one example.

ID or not, how is an illegal going to register to vote in the first place, since you have to prove citizenship in order to do so?
