Kenya’s Tsavo West National Park is rich in wildlife, but the land has dried up from lack of rain and drought, animals are perishing in record numbers.

One man has stood up and has taken matters into his own hands and is determined to save as many lives as he can.

This man has rented a water truck and drives for miles day and night to deliver fresh drinking water to several dried up watering holes across the park. “Last night, I found 500 buffalo waiting at the water hole,” he said. “When I arrived they could smell the water. The buffalo were so keen and coming close to us.”

This is Patrick Kilonzo Mwalua.

Everyday, Mwalua delivers 3,000 gallons of water to fill the dried up watering holes. He often finds the holes dirty with buffalo droppings, and even cleans them up ensure the animals get to drink fresh and clean water.

Day and night he selflessly delivers water to help suffering animals from certain death.

Though known as “the Elephant Guardian,” Mwalua has heroically helped countless animals in Kenya, where he has become a local hero.

Mwalua’s passion for wildlife inspired a few American women to set up a GoFundMe page for him. The man will continue caring for animals as much as he can.

I'm careful about using the word "hero" but this man is a true hero.

I saw this early sunday morning on PBS. I got to admit, this mans actions moved me. The long hot travels, and cleaning watering holes to ensure safe clean water.

He's definitely an inspiration.
I will be going the the Gofundme.
Feels..

But this is what the world needs

Live cams link below. The cams are not in Kenya’s Tsavo West National Park, but are still intriguing.

This guy is already more of a role model than LeBron James.

Great respect to Mwalua for doing this and it's the type of thing I like to read about when it comes to peoples in African Nations. This guy is a hero and someone to look up to for the Millions of children out there, not the 'Boko Haran' or illegals trying to get to Europe risking their live's.

I clicked over here expecting to see something about some idiot trying to feed himself to a grizzly bear.

My bad.

Nature went a little wonky for a while, and this dude jumps in to minimize impact... good show! 'Hero' definitely applies here.

'Environmentalists,' please take note: this is how it's done.
