It could just be that we are finally catching our breath after the emotional fit provoked by this last election season.

Something I've noticed in small children -- they can only scream and yell for so long before they have to stop and come up for air.

I never would have quite guessed at the depth of the emotional reaction this one election triggered. Sure, I felt bummed about Obama winning twice, but not as bummed as that lady yelling at Trump's inauguration, not riot level bummed.

What we are experiencing right now is a time of relfection. People are starting to realize how foolish they've been.

Ummm...awww...Johnny...say it ain't so...

Viva la Mudpit!

Don't let the title fool you because it's about so much more. It's about our chance for a true "Kumbaya" moment. It's the death of the mud pit should we dare to heed its noble call:

It Came From The Internet: FAKE NEWS!

By far the greatest OP that I've ever personally read and followed the links to.

When taken a hard look at--and the cognitive dissonance is shaken off--it contains an idea that I believe we can all get behind. Great read to boot.

The ATS management should call it, "fanny".

Because everyone shows their ass there.

This song plays any time anyone visits the pit.

But sometimes that just ain't enough
To keep a man like me interested
(Oh no)
No way
(Uh-uh)

No, I've gotta go out and have fun
At someone else's expense
(Oh yeah)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

mostly these lyrics, w some gender-fluidity.

Ah, Kali, we don't need to call out our own. You're busy doing it for us.

Like a 50 pound burning hot rock in quicksand, the mud pit will never go away.

I noticed the same thing.

A certain Mod attacks me on a weekly basis.

All because of my political views.

If it wasn't for the pit. Most of my posts get pulled down.

Same here....

The whole site has become one big mud pit!!!

There's also a negative side....

My biggest issue with the mudpit is the lack of naked women wrestling in there.

Of course not, but it's been almost 50 threads since the last one, that must be a record.

Are people finally finding some common grounds, or are they just getting tired of the non-stop flaming?

Regardless, it's quite refreshing.

I disagree. The toxicity is bleeding over into other threads now ... and is going unmoderated. There's no need to start a thread in the Mud Pit when the whole of the boards has become 'fair game' to a certain outspoken side of politics.

They're going to force ATS to ruins.

It's not just ATS. Every single conspiracy community mirrors ATS right now.

I think there's a tipping point where it just becomes a runaway thing. Those enforcing the 'rules' (as they are) simply can't keep up as it spills out of the mudpit little by little.

As more people see that, it becomes normalized and the need for the mudpit kind of dies down.

I think you are onto something...

I like it. Now I can use words like #*++* and #$%# and not get the 1000 point deduction and cyber spanking. I need those points!!!

Lol olaru my friend, thanks for reviving this old ass thread. Don't know why I wasn't allowed to keep the new one, considering the times are now so different compared to when I made this.

To war or not to war cuts right through the middle of partisan lines. An incongruity in the typically neat and tidy political narrative....a peak at how flimsy the fallacy really is.

Next thing you know mailmen and dos will be friends, and coyote will be shacked up with roadrunner.

I'll just enjoy the mud pit vicariously from now on - carry on compadre

I have seen that said many times, I dare say that is the case if the partisan line is easily drawable between a couple of entities. Syria though...for instance, is not like that, it's a dogs dinner as people have begun to realise proper.
