i usually dont but today i bought a couple tickets. i think i am going to buy 3 tickets a week.
ive always felt like it wont be me tat wins but someone has to.

ill take the cash payout.

all i want to do really is buy me a nice house in laurel canyon and be able to travel a bit. it would be nice to not have to worry about finances anymore.
i know there are some people that are serious about playing and spend a lot each week.

where do you fall?

in my state when you win you get the option of a 1 times cash payout or 30 annual payments.
which way would you go?

i know you get hit harder in taxes with the cash payout but thats the way i would roll on it.
put it in the bank. get the black card for me and one for my wife.

then enjoy some high falutin livin hahahahahah

I do play, yes... but try to make life feel as if I had won it already. It's why I am a crazy person and would live the same kind of life I do now... I would enjoy giving it all away.

Once I get a retired bus rebuilt to my living standards and I give up my participation in the rat race, I will surely feel as if I have won the lottery... just the free feeling alone is worth more then millions to me.

If I won I would buy Uncle Rico's time machine and go back so I could pick the winning lottery numbers.

Lotto is s tax on the poor and stupid.

With that said, i do play every now and then. Maybe a few times per year when jackpot gets big and office pools money.

Someone has to win and you have to play to win. I view it as entertainment.

If i won i would do some serious traveling. Probably buy a luxury RV and roam the US. Spend maybe a year in Europe.

I dont think id go crazy buying a lot of useless stuff. I could buy every material good my dreams desire for 500k, maybe less.

Id do something philanthropic. Give out scholarships. Do some secret santa stuff.

After traveling, id probably just open a coffee shop or hobby shop just to keep myself from being bored.

Always take the lump sum payout. The time value of money makes it worth more to get a lump sum vs the annuitized payout.

I play the lottery.

I figure I have a 50/50 chance.

Either I'll win, or I'll lose.

I play a couple times a month in the UK. Mainly because it funds good causes over here (Apparently). Odds of winning are astronomical since they upped how many numbers. (As if they were not astronomical before)

Someone has to win it eventually (It rolls over a certain amount of weeks before they guarantee a winner, whether it be split or someone gets all the numbers).

And you gotta be in it to win it.

A nice gentleman 100 metres form my house one a million the lotto raffle a few weeks back. Noticed his nice new Mercedes the other day :')

For me I would set myself up financially then just help my friends and family as much as I could. I would have a couple of dream cars (Focus RS & Fastback Mustang) then help fund some good causes. Oh, and also an epic camera set up and an RV so I can travel and take pics.

Life of leisure.

I play the PowerBall when I remember (not often) to do it. Everyone says the odds are so high that it's like throwing your money away. But, somebody has to win, right? Besides, I figure my dollar or two buys me a few days of hopes and dreams of what I would do with all that money.

I rarely play. But I still fall into wishful thinking. I'd put one-third divided between a few index funds, one-third to friends and family, one-third to charitable causes and scholarships, and 10% in banks.

No big material needs or wants... well, except a Lindal cedar home, along a brook or steam in Utah or Idaho, with plenty of natural daylight. Yeah. That's all.

We play every so often. It let's us fuel out crazy what if fantasies. We've done that for long enough now that we realize we genuinely have no idea what we'd do with all that money.

So we've kind of stopped hoping for the jackpot although we wouldn't turn it down.

Instead, we sort of hope we'll pull a smaller prize like maybe 1 million. We could fix a lot of our problems with that and financially put ourselves in a good place to be able to retire early unless disaster strikes.

Basically, it comes down to neither of us really having much in the way of big item things we'd want to go out and buy. There are plenty of folks we could help once we'd squared ourselves and we would, but all I can think of just once going car shopping and buying what I like cash off the lot because I can and want to, not because I have to be constrained by anything other than that.

We neither one even want a huge house, just a decent one with a yard and a really good kitchen.

its fun to think about the fantasy of what if.

i know i would buy more of a house than i actually need and my cars and bikes would probably be a pretty penny. i would not be sitting on gold toilet seats and wearing 800 dollar jeans though i know that.

i just want some walled off property in the canyon high up in the hills.
few cars and bikes. travel for sure. set a few people up.
spend time with the family enjoying life.

travel and going to restaurants would be the big spend though.

That's a lovely house but the neighbors are a bit too close. If you've got a lot of money I think it is best not to be so close to your neighbors that you can look into their windows and see what they are doing.

I usually buy a couple of scratch-offs and a lotto ticket per week. My favorite is the "Weekly Grand" where you win $1000 per week for 20 years. I could quit my job, sell my house and go somewhere and do artsy things like crochet knit hats for charity. Also, I would build a small dome house. Why a dome house? Because I really like high ceilings and I have heard they are tornado-proof. I am also fond of the "open concept" home.

I'm in the lottery pool at work.
It's nice it's a fun group thing. I seriously don't anticipate winning squat.

On the fantasy side I'd put a small second bedroom on the house. Call in a landscaping company and finally get my gardens in order. Get the car a tune-up. After that it's slap some in a trust for the grandkids education and help some friends out.

Maybe a upgraded electrical box....

What can I say? I'm low maintenance. Hahahahahaha

When I notice an obnoxiously big jackpot (generally at least $250M), I'll buy a single ticket. I play for the extreme longshot random chance a few times a year of turning $1-2 into massive money.

I know it won't really make a difference to me whether i win $50M or $500M. I use it more as a limiting factor. I don't want to spend $100/year or more playing the lottery.

When I see the people spending $100+ at a time, I often wonder how much better their lives would be if they weren't working solely to pay for lottery tickets.

I do gamble when I have the chance. Poker, craps, betting on baseball & football. I do pretty good with those, and there's not a 3.5:1 house edge like with the lottery.

I like games of chance. Often play lottery and casino games. A while ago I won 200$ on Calugila game. It was my biggest win
