Spare me your responses telling me how stupid the FE theories are.

Flat Earth is not only stupid but impossible according to Physics , if the Earth is flat then why not Mars , Venus and the other planets ?

Every other planet, moon, and our own sun isn't "flat." Earth is NO exception.

You put this thread up for discussion no? Sorry, I cant spare you my response then. Flat Earth theory is simply the most idiotic conspiracy there is. It comes hand to hand with "nobody went to space ever" BS

Exactly, I put it up for discussion of the points made, not for driveby "you are stupid" comments. You call that discussion.

Why don't you explain or debunk the claims that are being made, if it is all so idiotic.

All of 'em? Really? For all the time that people have been sailing the seas? Not one person has come up with irrefutable proof of the Earths flatness...not one. Do you not find that at all odd? Not even a little?

With a little basic arithmetic and basic science, one can prove the world is, indeed, round--or oblate, if you prefer.

Flat earth is nonsense. Right alongside the 6000 year old Earth.

The observations made are impossible on Ball Earth with a circumference of 25,000 miles.

Debunk or explain the claims made.

Earth spins on it's axis how would that make observation of our neighboring planets impossible ?

I suppose if one has never tried to apply the things that were attempted to be taught them, they would have silly mental processes like believing the earth is flat.

Go to the ocean, or the desert. You can see the curvature of the earth with your own eyes.

But then there are those who think they see things the way others have conditioned them to see them when in actuality you have been conditioned to question what you see with your own eyes.

What are you talking about. I am talking about the claims made in my OP. If you are not talking about that, you are off topic.

Sorry, that's your job. Extraordinary claims require, as it's said, extraordinary proofs. Your claim is somewhat extraordinary. Follow with your proofs.

Since your response is all too typical of flat-earth aficionados, I expect that movement of goal posts will follow shortly.

I never called you stupid. I call the FE theory stupid.

How many countries have a space program? A lot of countries claim to have a "space program" - 70 countries as of 2015. Only three currently operating government space agencies in the world - NASA, the RFSA (Russia) and the CNSA (China) - are capable of human spaceflight, which is the gold standard for space programs.

According to FE theory all governments who sent ppl to space are lying. Now in what reality in your opinion would 70 countries get together on the same lie? Even if only 3 countries has the gold standard.
No, we are living on a planet not a flat disk with Antarctica as the farthest ring.

Just because he is a Naval Officer doesn't make him a genius. Most officers are nothing more than managers that make sure their enlisted workers are doing their jobs properly. So that being said, he is either has a lack of understanding of advanced technology, or is just trying to be important.

Just because people drive cars doesn't mean they know how they work and why. We had an officer in charge of Alpha company (vehicles, heavy equipment, maintenance and operation) that had zero knowledge of any of those things. He deferred everything to the Master Chief until the big boss came around and he tried to talk like he knew what was going on. The CO had no idea either so they congratulated each other on a job well done and we sat there shaking our heads mumbling about how stupid they were.

Nuclear reactors on ships are serviced by enlisted 18 year olds with no college degree because they are trained for that. Those sailors are managed by an officer with a college degree that would most likely blow up the ship and half the ocean if they touched the reactor.

So sorry that I will not accept that just because an officer said so I should believe it.

So far not one of you has actually touched the main points that were made.

Nothing but off topic and empty words, even by mods.

On clear days you should be able to see ~100 miles. You can't.

ust because he is a Naval Officer doesn't make him a genius.

It's not about him, it's about what his observations show.

These observations and technical capabilities are either real, and can't be possible on Ball Earth, or he is lying about it all.

So he is lying?

Lies. I showed there is no evidence this person is who they claimed. That seems like it's directly debunking it.

Well ... interesting. This may fit in an odd way with 'holographic universe' models.

The Earth is as we perceive it, and if our perception is a projected 3D (4D if you include time) hologram of information stored in 2 dimensions, then maybe they are seeing past the hologram into the information behind the hologram with this 'flat Earth' stuff. Would that be possible?

Or are these people just delusional? I can't decide which....

So where are the ends of the Earth? The Pacific Fleet can leave from the West Coast and get to China and points beyond. The Atlantic Fleet can leave from the East Coast and can reach Europe and points beyond. So that means that they're not in the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans. But not only that ships from say England have a long history of traveling East to reach Hong Kong.

So, using simple logic we can conclude that a ship leaving from the East Coast of the United States can reach Hong Kong and a ship traveling from the West Coast of the United States can reach England. How do you resolve this simple fact without resorting to a round Earth?
