What do you guys think. Do you think that the Tu-180 was built in responce to the YB-49. The Tu-180 looks to old to be a counter to the B2.

I just read the article again and I found the "first flown in 1986". It does not seem right. I am thinking quite a few years earlier. Maybe 50's or 60's. But I could be wrong.

It is! So, the fun is over and for those who took it too serious, here is my reassurance - this is the only fabricated piece you will find on my page (untill next April of course). I used Tu-160 photo taken by Petr Butowskii to create the hoax. Actually, it is the unusual angle of the shot which made me spend few minutes with Photoshop and got rid off tail, engines and move cockpit and gear.
I have tonns of mail (including hate mail) and I would like to thank
those who took it easy and know the value of a good joke. The rest of
fellows... Couple of things:

1. Try to develop sence of humor. It might be just in time by next April

2. Be critical to any news you hear. Does not matter what source is.
Remember, not everything what's on the web or usenet is 100% true and
take it with a bit of scepticism.

3. Lastly, not everyone who has a page on the web is knowledgeble
in the subject his/her page covers. Though, it is least relevant to this particular case."

This was a good hoax. The Tu-180 would have been a cool jet if it was built.

Russian B2

If you read the page it clealy states that the artical is an April Fools day joke! I don't know for sure that the russian never tried to build a stealth; but if they did, This is NOT it.

I'm in agreement with $tranger. The Russian's build some very nice aircraft with a variety of influences and variations. I think this is a confirmed conclusion that the Russian's are indeed experimenting and utilizing "stealth" in its applied application to shape and form.

Fake Tu-180 Nevidimka
