I keep seeing interesting coins when I hit the flea markets and antique stores looking for locks and keys (padlocks and such not the ones mentioned in my reply to Jacy). I collect enough stuff as it is though and I really don't need another collection.

Anyhow have a fun outing with the boys and I hope you find some treasure(s) to add to the collection.

Lol, I remember going through the locks when I was a kid.
Also done the 1,000 Islands boat tour a couple of times...poked around Boldt Castle and all.
Such a beautiful area.

I'm in a small town now, surrounded by farmland (and the distinct smell of pig poop).

Excellent! I've always wanted to Mardi Gras but I'd probably get so drunk I'd try to speak Cajun French with a Quebecois accent and get my butt handed to me due to the locals thinking I'm being facetious.

I absolutely adore it here, I wouldn't give it up for the world.

A beautiful view ruined by a poignant aroma LOL. I can appreciate that. Fortunately it's all soybean and corn around here, the neighbour has several horses and cows but they are downwind usually. I think the new place is basically marsh except for where the dock is so it might be a tad stinky in the summer and I'm definitely not looking forward to the black flies and skeeters.

I'm laughing at your response to nightbringr, lol. Have you seen this commercial?

I adore it, not sure why. Maybe because my accent is as bad as the bald guy's...?
Ecouter,

Haha! One of my trip mates is from Montreal. The locals are very friendly and accommodating. He seems to be getting along just fine!

Sadly I'm leaving today. Would have loved to spend another few days in this amazing city. Even got to hold a baby crocodile!

Hahaha...glad you've seen it, makes me feel less crazy for posting it!

Although I keep loudly whispering, "Ecouter" and then cracking up, so perhaps I am still strange.

Who gets to hold a baby crocodile?? I think I'd try that before attempting Mardi Gras though, lol.

*sigh* At least we've survived Family Day. It was nice meeting you this way.

I'll be thinking of you going ecouter and cackling away every time I catch that advert now. And yes holding a baby croc would be very interesting. Mardi Gras seems a little crazy these days for this old fella so I probably missed my chance.

It turned out to be a good day for me. We went and met up with some friends then went to the Casino for a late lunch and won a little and lost a bit more then a nice drive in the country to see the new place( Nice, but smaller than I expected but cozy, incredible view of the lake and we have most of the point to ourselves) I hope ypu made it out to the park and enjoyed the sun and fed the birds.
Yes, another weekend behind us and back to the grind for a few days then moving on Saturday.

A pleasure to chat with you Jacygirl, Take care

We took a road trip into the city yesterday, despite the fact it was snowing on and off. I made a comment to friends and family yesterday how funny it is that I go to the airport once or twice a month, and I never fly anywhere...it's just the first Tim Hortons on my way to shopping...
There was but one grocery market open yesterday and it is a small space and difficult to navigate on a good day. Yesterday..it was packed with twice as many people as I have ever seen. Literally two lines simultaneously shuffling around the perimeter of the store while people grabbed what they could as they went by. Great part was people helping each other. Can't reach the mayo because you are in the wrong line? No worries..the person beside it handed it to you in trade for the green pepper beside you. Could you grab me an extra package of strawberries? Oh no problem! And it was exactly that in the entire store. About two hundred people crammed together, and we all helped each other out. There was no pushing, shoving, cursing, tempers flaring..nothing. It was a bit of faith in humanity restored.
