The Washington Post Feb. 19th 2017
Fox News anchor Chris Wallace warns viewers: Trump crossed the line in latest attack on media

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace cautioned his colleagues and the network's viewers Sunday that President Trump's latest attack on the media had gone too far.

“Look, we're big boys. We criticize presidents. They want to criticize us back, that's fine,” Wallace said Sunday morning on “Fox & Friends.” “But when he said that the fake news media is not my enemy, it's the enemy of the American people, I believe that crosses an important line.”

The discourse is getting to a point where I think the "fake news" needs to be discussed at a level where people can really see what's at stake.

Today Fox's Chris Wallace tore Reince Priebus a new one about the White House's attack against the news media.

This is truthful journalism, not "fake news" like Trump says.

Fake news implies news organization are promoting stories they know to be completely 100% deceitful and false. Trump's recent comment paraphrased, "The news is fake, but the leaks are real" really shows how deep the schism is.

The leaks can't be real and the news fake at the same time. If the leaks are real and the reporters are accurately portraying the information they have been given, then by definition they are reporting truthful news stories.

This can be evaluated in a much more rigorous way using formal logic.

docs.google.com...

No amount of spin can make a true story false. News outlets can try to spin Trump's wall being a good thing or a bad thing, but the fundamentals that Trump proposed building a wall on the Mexican border is a fact no amount of BS will change. This gets to the very heart of the matter. Fake means false.

Trump can say the news is "BIASED" and he would be right. Trump can say news organizations manipulate and add weasel words to sabotage opponents and he would be correct. However saying the news is "FAKE" is a falsehood. The fundamentals of the stories are accurate as Trump himself has admitted. Reporters are entitled to write expose's based on investigations and add commentary so long as they substantiate the core truths of the story.

As Americans we each have an inalienable right to speculate on parts of a story that are unknown to us and we have a right to be concerned about stories that look bizarre exactly because we don't know the full story. Our right to speculate and investigate stories we feel are unexplored gets right to the heart of our very freedoms about how we learn and understand the world. Once a government official is given a platform to denounce media outlets where does it stop?

InfoWars is mostly "fake news", but I would be extremely alarmed if I saw anyone in government at any point trying to shut Alex Jones down. The second a government official can label a news source "fake news" is the second the government begins to explore silencing or shutting down websites like Above Top Secret.

Be careful what you wish for.

Fox is just making its transformation.

First they get the girls to go after the boss. And, now they're using the Wallace and Smith (throw-aways who'll do anything to stay on a payroll) to grind off the rough spots.

Everybody knew this was coming when Rupert turned the network over to his liberal boys.

There is no free press.

It is owned by 5 corporations.

Let's focus on that instead of political grandstanding.

Hopefully, you're not completely brainwashed yet.

Star and Flag.

I am only partially through your OP, but wanted to applaud you right away.

Chris Wallace is the son of Mike Wallace. I believe in him.

Alex Jones is a puffer-fish-humanoid who has no cred at all.

Jim Jefferies is a genius who tells us what is real:

Basically, the press is censoring what anyone (even the president) can say about them.

And, who could control the narrative better? LOL

I wonder what Twitter thinks about Trump using their service now? Will they attempt to blackmail him with it?

Bush Jr. is no longer the President and can now speak for himself as an individual. The same goes for every other ex-President. Trump is no longer representing himself. He represents the United States of America.

If President Trump wants to set the record straight, he indeed should Stress the extreme BIASED OBSESSION that most of the mainstream media has against him, his family and his administration. Their extreme negative bias is DANGEROUS, because it tells all terrorists and nations like Russia, North Korea, IRAN, that the U.S.A. is a RIPE TARGET.

PUNISHMENT OF CNN MUST BE IMPLEMENTED. This will cause the others to start being PRO-AMERICAN news organizations once again.

The press is stating that some criticisms have "crossed the line".

They are determining what anyone can say about them.

All news to some extent is 'fake' news.

FOX
CNN
MSNBC

Best you can do is hear the issue, research it yourself, and come to your own conclusion.

Not really, attacking freedom of the press is an attack against American principles. You are American right?

Wallace is nothing more than a controlled mouthpiece for one of the Big 6.

just like athletes began communicating directly with their audience with websites like the players tribune, trump is trying to communicate directly with his audience

if he didn't lie everyday, it wouldn't be that big a deal, but he is so deep into the propaganda machine, it has to be taken as a dire threat to the american way

In the end, this really isn't just about controlling the message and spin, its also about what ISN'T being discussed that is his biggest goal, so I am trying to stay focused on what he doesn't want us talking about, polluting streams, deregulating wall street, oil pipelines etc etc

Don't ever forget his biggest concern is the value of the Trump brand, and his billionaire friends

we are just a means to an end

stay focused !!!!!

The press can say whatever they want.

The ####ing press does NOT dictate what I or anyone else gets to call them.

Freedom of the press applies to individuals, not a monolithic cabal of 5 corporations.

Jim Jefferies is a genius who tells us what is real:

He's a genius? That was hilarious and I agree with what he said, but that does nothing to change the fact the news media is making # up .. It's 5 people are controlling all the main news channels.. That's not a smart situation to find yourself in..
If you want to be more of a genius you would find it wise to not take their word for it.

And that's the issue.

Trump does a terrible job fighting fake news because he's making # up off the top of his head too..

But on ATS CNN lying has become so common to see, I don't know how anyone would trust them again.

You don't have to pick between Trump or MSM.. You can decide logically neither one can be trusted at their word.

And you know what? The Press has earned being called Fake News.. They started that #.. How dumb are they to not know it would come back into their face.. Don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house held together by lies..

It all unravels so fast..

Now they have to prove they are real news, and people are looking elsewhere increasing competition.. This is good for us.
If they refuse to turn into real news, because they are actually propaganda meant to psy op the world into a particular avenue, then people will stop watching.. If they change to real news to gain credibility to propaganda will start wearing off.. Choices...

You guys remember PROPAGANDA is LEGAL... Right you guys remember that recently last year maybe?
Remember the court case where FOX NEWS was sued for lying, and guess what they defended it by saying their program was for ENTERTAIMENT only..

They all LIE all the damn time..

Trump looks like a good boy next to those creeps .
