The reason that we have... issues... with other people is because they reflect something to our face that exists within ourselves, with which we have yet to Love/assimilate.
A klepto may hate thieves, and see them everywhere until he accepts the thief within, when he will stop seeing them everywhere.
People sharing their hates tells us much about them, rather than the 'ostensible object' of the hate.

As for the 'embracing', with all due Love and respect, he is not going to touch me. *__-

But it is not about 'left' and 'right', both need to evolve spiritually, emotionally if not mentally.
We all need to become Enlightened/Loving, or stop being.
That is what assimilates all apparent opposites into One, the 'chrono-synclastic infundibulum' of Vonnegut!
