Well this isn't a healthy example but some people relate to Kyrie. We see how much influence celebrities have...

Right or wrong theres a large demographic of people that listen to him....

I don't think athletics have anything to do with mental prowess...He is a world class athlete but anyways I see where you're coming from.

Hopefully he takes a deep look into the topic if he hasn't already.

Just being sure....haha was hoping you were but I'm new here so I need to be better about picking up sarcasm. I could have used a better word.

Underside, I think.

Kyrie Irving is free to believe the world is flat, he's not hurting anyone with that opinion. Foolish, perhaps. But there's no law 'gainst bein' foolish, last I checked.

No further proof needed that a fool can become rich and famous.
edit on 19-2-2017 by OccamsRazor04 because: (no reason given)

the fact that he is making public statements demonstrating his scientific illiteracy is the evidence in my mind that he has not looked into the matter at all

but hey - i am secretly hoping that he will attempt to " disprove " the spheroid model using only a basket ball , some lego figures and his own delusions

it will be hysterical - utter bollox - but still funny

He attended Duke University in college to play basketball. I wonder how they feel about the publicity.

They probably don't care much. They're too busy trying to be politically correct.

In any case, Earth is not a spinning flying ball.

A revolution is going on but it is flying over the heads of the majority of people here.

Just because he's rich and well known doesn't make him right.

The Ancient Greeks figured out the Earth wasn't flat about 2,500 years ago.

They did?

He was at Duke for only 1 year but was injured for most of it.

Did it involve his brain?

Off course, calling the man "stoopit" is the expected kneejerk reply of the small minded.

oh FFS - here we go again - instead of JAQing off - please read the archive of flat earth threads - and comprehend them - if you still have a question that was not previously answered - or an actual point - feel free to raise it

but if you mention perspective - i shall know who you are

when someone is stupid - pointing it out is a valid response

No, that would be him ignoring all the evidence proving his belief is stupid.

If I remember those threads correctly, last thing we saw of you was your back side, running away......

I said, Earth is not a spinning flying ball. I didn't say Earth is flat.

If pointing out somebody is being stupid when they're being stupid is wrong in your mind, surely conflating somebody not bothering to deal with you any longer with somebody running away is wrong.

Or are you selective about it, in that it's only wrong if you don't agree with it?

There is a lot of evidence that says that the current model is wrong. He is not ignoring that.

thank you for identifying yourself - i would say " welcome back " but integrity forbids it as i dont want you back - as for " running away " - you were the one trick pony that ignored all evidence presented - and getting the last word in doesnt meen you " won " - the threads show that

and my parting shot - have you tried entering speed reading contests - you should be a star
