Today the POTUS announced his pick for Labor Secretary and it is Alexander Acosta after another person withdrew from confirmation. Funny side note is Trump joked with CNN reporter with the same name, Jim Acosta and discussed it during his press conference. A moment of levity. Telling him he made sure they were not related.

Getting back to the pick. Trump said...

"I have wished him the best, we just spoke and he is going to be a tremendous secretary of labor," Trump said. Acosta -- the son of Cuban immigrants -- was not at the event with the President.

He was served before including GW Bush and has been through the Senate confirmation process 3 times. A Dean as FIU College of Law he has in the past held strong views on Muslim rights so maybe it will show the non-hate? Naahhhh....I cannot wait to see what the media says about this guy.

So trump figured another billionaire would be obviously too suspect, so he finds a token candidate he'll use in press conferences as his example of diversity or a not 'swamp-like' cabinet catering to big corps, and we should jump with joy?

You seem to eager to see our country fail based on your response here and from your other thread.

Any reason you don't want to see Trump and the U.S. succeed?

Did Trump steal your lunch money as a kid?

Good thing he isn't the son of Mexican immigrants or Donnie would try to get him deported. Cuba is communist now isn't it? So will Russia be getting their info from their fellow commie from Cuba?

Here is the big news.

Alexander Acosta prosecuted Jeffery Epstein for his sex crimes. what a coincidence.

Truly what are chances, this guy prosecuted the center piece of pedo conspiracy

Can you imagine what he uncovered while investigating? epstein's money, influence, and connections got him off most charges.

Shots fired.

Shots fired? More like he might have more info on trumps island visits.

It was really Acosta that gave Epstein a good deal.

And in 2008, he agreed not to file federal charges against Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire convicted of soliciting underage girls for prostitution, if he plead guild to state charges, according to Politico. Epstein ended up getting an 18-month county jail sentence, and he only served 13 of those months.

no it was not. Acosta released an extraordinary letter regarding the matter. I had read past the tabloid headlines.

your link doesn't work.

Here is a link that does. It's from 2011.

I expect the media to all act like Reldra on the matter and not dig more than an inch.

Behind the deal

Acosta is a brilliant, accomplished man...

Cuban immigrants were fleeing communist oppression and have a unique understanding of liberalism's treachery…

In fact, most Cuban immigrants [i have met] have more understanding of American Exceptionalism than all the fools from middle-class white families protesting across the country…
