DREAMERs: Get Out

To which I reply;
"“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed, to me:
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” ― Emma Lazarus

THAT is the Greatness of America of which Trump and his minions are blasphemously clueless!

Wasn't it the French that printed up that slogan? Look at their situation.

Perhaps you don't understand that it is on the statue of liberty, not in France but in Amerikkka!
That is because we once had ethics and a heart, so we adopted the bit of beautiful poetic sentiment, and lived it.
And thrived!

And in case you missed it, Emma Lazarus is from NEW YORK CITY, not France, as if that makes any difference at all!!
Stupid argument, anyway...

No ... you wanted to push it ...

The sonnet was written in 1883 and donated to an auction, conducted by the "Art Loan Fund Exhibition in Aid of the Bartholdi Pedestal Fund for the Statue of Liberty" in order to raise funds to build the pedestal.
So ... whatevahs.

Proving that they allow the bosses and managers who knowingly get away with their hiring practices, not arresting them for it

Awww-man ... c'monnn. They had their hiring practices back in my day. They'd hire us kids to work for them. We worked off the books, as many hours as we liked, under minimum wage. Go-along-get-along. That's what labor is.

The way my old man worked me for supper was ten times worse. LOL

We use to work the watermelon fields during middle school summer breaks back in the day. Not one kid complained, hell we loved the cash!

Exactly!! Kids can't even think about earning a buck anymore. When I was thinking back, that's all I ever wanted to do, unless all the kids in the neighborhood wanted to play football or baseball. Neither one of my kids got that experience and both of 'em got off to a slow start earning money as adults.

Maybe you are right.
Give me some percentages and I'll see if this potential 'tempest in a teapot' is worth being concerned over.
We have had immigrants forever.
They have built this country.
They ARE this country!
Some have always been insane/criminals, a small percentage.
Not enough to counterbalance their benefit!

As for drug dealers, don't make me laugh!
Deal with the big pharmaceutical companies, and their 'doctor' distributors, addicting such vast numbers of people on prescription (gang approved) drugs!
More than street drugs, I'd wager.
My doctor already has me addicted to half dozen.
No addictions to street drugs.
Same for the people I know...

Nah, I don't think those are legitimate arguments.
As I said, show me the numbers.

Again, you do not refute anything that I so clearly offered.
You offer an ad-hominem fallacy, implying that I am 'stupid'.
Is that your "nyaaah, nyaaah, nyaaah..." argument?
I'm a stupid-head?
Okay, I make no claims, I might be a stupid-head, but you seem incapable of refuting the offering of a 'stupid-head'!
Where does that leave you? *__-

I think that we are done with this conversation.
See you around the corner..

Absolutely agreed.

I've said for years we don't need to convolute our situation w more legal red tape and bs...

Enforcement is always the way to go!

The next step for Trump is to hammer employers giving them jobs....

True but way back then we did not have 320 million residents of which 96 million (or there abouts ) are unemployed..

As a matter of fact during the great depression all immigration was stopped, banded, did not happen. Yep mean old historical facts get in the way, No?

Thats not the only injustice, or loophole depending how you look at it, in immigration. I'll keep playing this until people get it

Alright. Help a brother out. Get what?

I worked in a slaughterhouse in my teens. Far easier labor than working the farm (which just became 'chores'). There weren't any illegals (that I could tell) where I worked. In fact, outside of the admin girl, everyone was a white dude.

Here in Idaho, the slaughter houses , dairies and sugar beet factory are notorious for hiring illegals, you walk into one of these places and you may or may not be able to communicate w a large portion of the employed ...in fact if you see them hiring in the paper (usually for admins, office, or "foreman" positions) you have to be bilingual

These are owned by very very large companies here in Idaho.

It's critical companies like this are held accountable .....

There is only one truth of an event or story. The rest is lies. Thats how we tell, sorting out the lies leaves only the truth. Its an ongoing battle of attrition.

Getting rid of Nafta would also help alleviate the problems.

Since the passage of it increased illegal immigration.

No single thing is going to fix the problem.

A combination of steps will help curtail it.

Yes that was because NAFTA turned out worse for Mexico's economy than it was for ours. Though at this point they are starting to recover, if we were to remove NAFTA then their economy would implode again. This would cause illegal immigration numbers to go up again.

1) there are no 'facts' that are not 'beliefs'.
2) There is no need to be insulting, and we are not in a depression, so your 'argument' fails.
If you take issue with something that I wrote, get it out, educate me. But insulting me is hardly a cogent argument.
There was a nation behind those words I offered. It was part of the 'Greatness' that Amerikkka was!
Was.
That nation is dead, now, suffocated in it's own belly fat.
We (the Earth) have PLENTY of resources for everyone to live well, if Trump and his ilk didn't hoard it in their 'warehouses'!
We will have less and less drone jobs as the planet becomes automated, and there will be sufficient profit for all to live well.
The estimate is 50% jobs by 2030.
We're just going to have to deal with it.
Building a 'wall' is incredibly short sighted, and doomed to failure!

I'm sorry, but that Aristotelian crap is obsolete!
A=A AND A=/=A AND A sometimes =A AND... all at the same moment!
According to you, they cannot all be 'true'.
According to quantum mechanics, they are all simultaneously true statements, all 'valid' Perspectives!
T vs F is obsolete, unphilosophical, it's ALL True!
I think that this is more appropriate in it's own thread, though.
This thread was about kicking out immigrants.

Dumb question: Did you actually watch the video segments I embedded from the film "Food Inc"?

Don't hold it against me.
My computer is incapable of sound, and closed captioning is often garbled mess, so, no.
I don't think that it makes any difference in my response. If so, please feel free to pass it on.
The statue and the poem represents a dead Amerikkka, dead or in a temporary walking coma!
My response was relevant with or without videos.
Dumb answer to a dumb question, eh? *__-

Oh... more to the topic. The video portrayed the way corporations hire illegal immigrants to save money while the immigration 'service' goes after them (the workers) instead of the company. They followed a couple raids showing they arrest a few people, so as not to disrupt production. From the film, Food, Inc.

Broaden your horizon, see it.

Things are the way they are not the way you perceive them.
Things will be the way they will be not the way you foresee them."
A lovely bumpersticker for $.50, but hardly relevant to the discussion.

I told you, my computer is unable to offer 'sound' at this moment.
You cannot imagine the 'horizons' that 'I' have transcended.
And, there are lots of films...

Are you ready to spend $10. on a gallon of milk?
Or a head of lettuce.
There will come a time to put up or shut up, you'll get there... *__-

You, too, will eventually join the thread;
"Trump Minions Site of Ultimate Regret, register here!"
We'll be gentle; no "I told you so's!"! *__-

Just an afterthought; Where did your family immigrate from?
Before that??
Where did Trump come from?
And before there?
So we're in, and want to close the door behind us?
There were those every generation...

Twice you suggested that I watch your video, while never letting on how it is relavent to our discussion.
Twice I had to tell you I couldn't.
