ATS " aniversaries " just WTF ?????????

Look, as others said, don't click on them. It is actually nice to know, that even on this site, where things can get heated and ugly, there is someone that cares enough, to create a "shelter" if you will.

I for one hope we keep her for many many years, and she continues to be that light in the darkness.

We should all strive to be so kind.

it's about the friendships that have evolved through membership and time.

Exactly , myself and bally001 ( yes thats him up the top of the previous page the mud crab burgler ) have come to form a friendship , not just because we live in the same country but because for the most part our views are the same . Oh and we both love crabs .

I love making Anniversary and Birthday threads for people. If I am alerted by other members or notice on my own. To me, the people here are real people and very much like an extended family. It brings them joy and that brings me joy. It's that simple really.

And also a "good excuse for a party!" I don't catch them all, with my sporadic visits, but they're always good light hearted fun. Sure, it eventually devolves into creepy basement talk, but that helps scare the riff-raff away.

Whoa, thank you for bringing up the topic, I've just realised tomorrow is my 6 year anniversary!

That's 6 years on and off coming here, chatting with folk, I only wanted to dig a little deeper into earthquakes, now look at me.

Defending why people would wish to make anniversary threads, I get what you mean OP, yet we are quite sentimental really as a species overall.

Though I'm saving it all up for the big 10 before I make a thread.
