There's nothing wrong with Ruth's, actually. It's just a little too stuffy for me (not to mention it's difficult to spend less than hundred for dinner there). Also... I might not feel comfortable punching anybody on my spouse's shift.

Ugh! The pressure changes play hell with my sinuses which in turn cause nasty migraines. Plus, I am scared of heights. I haven't willingly flown in well over a decade. As much as it is tempting, still not worthwhile. Besides, it's expensive.

I'd come. but it's a tad expensive to get there and the barbarians at the gate (LAX) would likely put in in that small room again, taunting me for hours with their oh so hilarious quips, telling young twenty-something girls to "Get back away from me" like she has girl germs, and making little Asian students cry...

Other than that, who doesn't love 30 hours in transit on 2 flights across the entire Australian continent and then across the Pacific ocean

I don't have any suggestions for eating unless everybody can agree on one type of cuisine. I'm just in it for after the dinner, anyway.

For that, I'd suggest either O'Neil's (super authentic Irish pub), Crush Bar, Steinhaus, etc. But if there's a ton of us, check out Punch Bowl Social. Super fun place if you're bringing a tribe with you.

Beyond that, most of the dives downtown are a blast, the Montavilla district has a ton of gems, as well. And of course, if you wanna scare all the non-locals, we can all hike down Hawthorne.
