Why does ATS Require a Verified Social Network Account for Signing Up?

No bubble to burst here . I haven't been in too much trouble here and not enough to have a need to talk with a staff member .I wont complain about them because we need them .I was kind of pulling your chain though

I don't think so,when I first signed up Facebook didn't exist,wasn't until later years they added twitter,which wasn't required

In 3 days it will be my 7 year anniversary here at ATS (YAY SO MUCH LOVE TO SO MANY HERE) anyways I never ever had a social media to sign in here and never needed one to join. Just an email address and some decorum (most of the time) to stay.

Although I dont TOTALLY agree with this....

It could vastly cut down on the puppet and trolling accounts, as it would take a lot more effort to create those than the two seconds to make a new email address on Gmail........

Why does the member page even display the social network I registered with? How is it anyone's business?


Also, where is the information that informs new members to which extent information is being cross linked or collected by the social network?

Yup, It's painfully obvious this is the main concern of this thread.

This peaked my curiosity, so I logged out to go to the join page.

No way to do it than with a social network, very strange.

I am saying that trolls are a problem, sadly, they think they are clever, but in reality they are lonely and kinda sad and really hold little interest for other people on this site when they are executing whatever strange emotional problems they have by their need troll the site.
