Does anyone know why both CNN and CBS news are sending huge news crews to Antarctica?

No, because it is normal. When ice sheets grow and push ice out to sea it eventually breaks off.
Yup. But is it normal for such a large chunk?

Normal in what sense?
In the last few hundred years, maybe not.
Over the course of millennia, probably not so much.

Now if it can be proved to have never, ever, eeever happened before then it might be super interesting.

If it grows faster it means its colder not warmer.

What does this mean?
Antarctic Sea Ice Likely to Hit New All-Time Record Lows Over Coming Days

Over the course of millennia, probably not so much.
I think what happens in the next 100 years might be of more concern than what happened 20,000 years ago.

Close.

My sources tell me that CNN found an honest journalist with integrity.

So they went there to kill him.

I think they are doing some climate change documentaries and reports.

Perhaps this is part of it.

www.adweek.com...

I think that's the CBS "cover story".

Haven't seen a peep from CNN.

Could be all the climate change events that are happening re: ice shelves breaking off, etc.

Could also be something else.

Haven't a fair number of very high-level people recently visited Antarctica?

Why?

I think the story is bigger than climate change. I think the ice melts may have uncovered something extraordinary and which can't be kept secret any longer.

As to what that may be, who knows...

You gotta love ATS...

The hell with politics - this is something we can really get our teeth into!

What ice melts?
There are record Ice sheet growths there.
That proves global warming is bunch of grade A bullsnip.

Record "level" of ice sheet growth over a short period of time...not record level of ice sheet coverage.

Big difference.

Look it up.

If it grows faster it means its colder not warmer.

Yes.

For that short period of time that they measured.

Overall, the ice sheet is smaller...not to the degree of the Northern ice sheet, but still smaller. And there are huge melt events happening all over the continent.

But I still smell something else afoot here...

It means a big chunk is about to break off, but don't worry the sheet growth is at record grow speed it will be back in a jiffy compared to other known growth periods.

Ho hum.

Um no.
But of course, you didn't read the article, so you are excused for thinking that it has much to do with that.

Here's some info on the CBS crew.

CBS News going to Antarctica

Says it's about showing climate change.

And former astronaut Buzz Aldrin was removed on an emergency basis because of his health recently. An 86 yr old man at the South Pole? Perfectly normal.

And John Kerry...

And the head of the Greek Orthodox church right after meeting with the Pope of the Catholic Church for the first time in over 1000 years.

Yeah, nothing to see here...

Those are normal melt events that are over exaggerated and totally offset by faster ice sheet growth. If there were abnormal melting across the continent the ice sheets would be growing slower.

Throw common sense out and soak in the globalist carbon credit agenda.

Hey, maybe they can send Al Gore there to make a movie, he could live on the ice sheet till Trump's terms are over.

I think you're missing the more important facts.

The Ice sheets and the snow cover in Antarctica is at record lows.

Yes, the ice sheet grew at a record pace for a short period, but climate is a longer process.

Just because it grew fast for a short period does NOT mean that the ice and snow loss on the whole has been reversed.

The article that Phage posted has some good info.

Educate yourself.

May not be the case in THIS instance but...

They are also doing training to go back to the moon down there....this Antarctica stuff has come up a lot in the boards but no one seems to like this logical explanation why we've had so many officials go down there....

We are trying to get a permanent moon base set up apprently. And have been training people in Antarctica for the return trip

You can google it

This would explain a lot

Now there's a theory that is believable.
Explains the former astronaut interest mixed in with the big shots.

the news crews will be there as permanent correspondents/journalists to dish out the newsworthy stuff the alien civilization will parcel out to humanity from that neutral landmass... (well now a continent claimed by the ETs as their territory)

in an type of flanking action... the world will be informed of a process to turn base metal/elements into other precious metals or strategic rare earths...

Most likely, this is the correct answer. All this gibberish about ice sheets is wrong, something much bigger in human history is happening. They were here before we were, they deserve a continent. Good timing actually, right as we are getting to the point where we can't stand each other..

Sorry, I guess I should have asked how "large" the crews are. Since that's what your OP said, in contrast to the title.

Oh big icebergs the size of a state just break off every day.
See I was under the assumption that this was something news worthy.
Thanks for schooling me.
Which way to the bury your head in the sand class.

Why does that matter?

Seems you're nitpicking on the word used in the title of the OP. If that's the case, have at it. Doesn't change a thing.

Why bother? Does size matter that much to you, Phage?

Seems sort of petty and small minded to me.

But that's my opinion...

Spring is coming, the ice will be melting. They need more propaganda for global warming.
