X Raided is dope! He's getting out of jail soon actually. Not that I'd want him on my block..

How about that album he recorded over the phone from jail

To be honest, you could almost take every rap song from that time and it is good...
Only because nobody had this masterpiece yet:

And, as i said, the 90´s had too much of good music of that kind to choose only some songs, i want to present one of my favourites of the 80`s, because everybody loves it but everybody forgets it again, after hearing it(not me!!! xD):

This is another good one done from jail, Sacramento and Bay area had good sounds back then. They probably still do but I haven't heard the new stuff lately.

Most underrated thread ever, 90's hip hop is hip hop or at least the pinnacle I would say. Now days we have mumble rap and all these new guys sound the same. In the 90's it was pretty much a pre-requisite to have your own style and not to sound like others (biting or dick riding as it would be called).

Anything Pac or Biggie, mobb deep, Ruff ryders (especially the Lox), of course N.W.A in the very beginning (RIP Easy), Bone thugs, Wu-Tang (My favorite group to this day), No limit was doing their thing and revolutionizing the industry and how artist's were paid, Just so many but here are a few that I noticed no one posted.

'95, wow. A lot of the stuff in this thread is pretty easily dated but I don't feel like that was released so long ago.

Dude's beyond awesome.

MOP: Perfect gym music, I dunno why but their style of psychotic anger makes me so happy. Probably the best chemistry out of any rap duo ever.

I would post links but going on youtube is gonna kill what's left of my remaining data so I'll just list some tracks off.

Big Pun: Beware
Mobb Deep: Survival of the fittest
The Lox: Recognize
Blackstar: Definition
CNN: Live on live long
Tragedy Khadafi: TM
Nas: Represent
Cormega: Unforgiven
