You know what I'm talking about.

It's been on my radar for quite some time and it's probably been on yours as well. The fact that this will never be played out for the public is disheartening.

It's upsetting. It shows how disingenuous our nation is.

When you're wrong, you're wrong and the government and all parties involved need to open up and settle these international disputes in public.

I think about the damage this has caused overseas and the fact that nothing will be done about this AND IT MAKES ME SICK!

Some required reading about the specifics about the case. . . .

You may not know this, but there’s a city in Turkey called Batman, located beside the Batman River in the Batman Province. What you do probably know is that Batman is a superhero and titular hero of the Dark Knight trilogy, directed by Christopher Nolan. In 2008, the city of Batman sued Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros—the production studio behind the films—for using their town’s name without getting permission first.

The mayor of Batman, Huseyin Kalkan, who either has the best sense of humor or a complete lack of one, stated, “There is only one Batman in the world” in his defense of the lawsuit. He claims that not only should the city receive royalties for the use of the Batman name, but that they should be compensated for the “psychological impact” on residents and, as well as an inexplicably high suicide rate among females in Batman—all apparently caused by the Dark Knight films.

listverse.com...

This horrid tragedy has been going on since 2008. (thanks a lot Bush!)

I repeat. . .

In 2008, the city of Batman sued Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros—the production studio behind the films—for using their town’s name without getting permission first.

And now look at what has happened as a result.

We have Ben Affleck as Batman.

I am ashamed of our country and the fact that this case was DENIED a fast-track to the Supreme Court.

It is a stain on our nation that we will always live with.

SHAME!

Sorry Batman, Batman was created in 1939 as opposed to your village renaming in 1957.

It was amazing what you'll find image searching the term Batman Turkey!!!

I support compromise. We could have just expatriated Ben Affleck to Batman in return for at least one more movie with Christian Bale in the titular role.

Bale's performance could ease the troubled people of Batman and they could do as they wish with Affleck.

Win win.

One word. Celebrity Death-Match!
Michael Keeton, Jack Nickolson, and Adam West would be the judges.

Just another typical example of greedy, racist, capitalist, Americans stomping all over the rights of Islamic people.

Bob Kane originally created the character as 'The Bat-Man' in '39.
When the name was changed in order to infringe on Turkey's TM, I don't know.

He wasn't a very great Daredevil either. How many superheroes does he have to ruin before we say 'enough!'

I am no longer proud to live in the DC universe.

I am seriously thinking of immigrating to Marvel.

For good!

(I need to have a cry now)

Sorry. Until we get that wall built, there will be no DC immigration allowed.

On the plus side, if Affleck ever sets foot in Turkey, they'll probably behead him.

Aquaman isn't even real a real person, he self-identifies as a fish!
