911 emergency # coincidence or symbolic purpose

I am curious to know what your feelings are about the 911 emergency #, should it be changed or should it be kept?

It is a painful reminder daily that is easily associated to 9/11 isn't it?

Also, do you think that day and the 911 # are connected?

Is it possible that a group associated with the planning of that day, chose 9/11 because of 911?

Are symbols and numbers used to program us?

The towers themselves resembled 11 and if you add up 9 + 2 you get 11.

I am sure it is just a coincidence, right? Just me being silly.

What about the flight numbers of the planes used that day and the airlines? There are many different airlines that could have been used.

Someone got rich shorting United and American.

I think they should change the emergency number to something else, like 000.

NO, I don't think it should be changed. The number is ingrained the minds, of people in the US at least, to dial that when under extreme pressure in an emergency. People remember it.

I know my city, in the last couple years instated a police non emergency 3 digit number and I have no idea what it is. Even though there was advertising. For the few times I called the non emergency number... fender bender in front of my home, loose dog, stop sign fell in the road...I looked up the 7 digit local number.

I was intentionally bad mathing.

I always kind of thought about that as well but no, I don't think it should be changed. Everyone has been using it for so long now. I also think it's interesting that 911 add up to 11. I also think it's interesting that 311 could mean 3-11's with the letter K being the eleventh letter in the alphabet - KKK. A lot of funny things with numbers.

The other thing I always think about is the fact that when I was in school, if you pulled a fire alarm you got in HUGE trouble. We were always taught "don't pull that!". I guess pulling it in the case of a real fire or actual emergency was assumed. To this day, when I think about pulling a fire alarm or calling 911 for just a moment I have that "scared kid" feeling like, oh # I'm going to get in trouble for this...

Then the terrorists win. They chose that day for memorability.
Change the day, and they'll have to do a new attack.
Plus, other countries also use 911.

If there was any conscious significance to the number, it would have been in the area of psychological warfare, deliberately setting up a mental association.
That ploy would not have worked for us. Our emergency number is 999. I once read that 000 was avoided (in the days of real "dialling"), because it was too easily imitated by accidental electronic impulses.
