Its pointless mate, I reported something similar the other day and it was not changed (Even a super moderator was responding on the thread I reported)

Than it was not deemed off topic, and an FYI, the mods replying in thread are not supposed to moderate in those threads.

Too much bitching and excuse-making as far as I am concerned about the direction the site has taken. People can post non-political threads but they do not. I had this same conversation with DToM and she helped me get my Softball thread up and running. They will help if someone asks, believe me when I tell you that they would also like to see some non-political threads.
