like laying in bed and stretching out so far that it feels so good and then just collapse all relaxed like? while a wave of tingling sensation takes over for a few seconds?

The more you are aware and able to feel these things, the more able you are to precieve other things as well. The more you work with it, the better you begin to understand it and are able to tell when something is about to take place or be able to take yourself to that state at will.
Right now, it sounds like a great relaxation technique for you (the same way I started with the healing :-)
Use it before bed and as you drift into sleep and be intending to keep yourslef in a relaxed open state while sleeping, also intend to remember the sdreams' you have.
If you can do this without prep (without stopping and getting quiet etc), do it throughtout your day when you get upset, stressed, have a headache.
Say you have a headache. As the energy is felt leaving your body, intend the pain to go with it. You'll be amazed at what you can do with this.
Pain relief, bp up or down, heart rate up or down, cramps gone - you name it!
Call this the first baby step to the world of precieving what others call the paranormal.

Thanks for the explenation, but i dont know i this feeling i have is the same. As i said it will get painfull if i keep it for longer than 7 seconds, just like trainig a muscle, except this feeling is like training every single muscle in your body. It kinda activates through the head, but it is focused on my stomach, and is felt troughout my body. But it is indeed relaxing in the beginning, just for 5-6 seconds.

But i shall try to see if i can train this, experiment with it alot and perhaps expand the feeling. Weird that i never did that(did thought about it though), so thanks for your post.

btw. i dont really think this feeling is paranormal or healing, just some feeling that gets released. Ofcourse i could be wrong, but well see when im done experimenting with it

A little tingling in the head perhaps if your focusing on that, but more like a burning wave with a little tingling in the head and raising hartbeats at the end. But its not like an incredible relaxed state, its more like training, you know, working out every muscle in your body.

Epiphany...we agree it's more sensual and textural, and, rather than the result of an 'urge', it comes unbidden through the meditative process, like finding a footpath through large stones and woods. Excuse me for getting prosaic, but I can't describe it better than with the word 'epiphany'.

Frith said it too, when comparing it to pulling a trigger. We relax, ring a bell, say a mantra...it's all the same...a trigger.

LadyS, when LadyS talked about grounding, I also think she could understand the idea of vibrations harmonizing the body with it's surroundings. Attenuating. It's as if the energies within ourselves 'get in tune' as we relax.

Vault talked about the feeling of the senses in overload, almost...a real workout. I agree with that. There is a certain tensing, a state of momentary paralysis that sets in, even though we know we can 'snap out of it' if we wanted to...as if you can hardly feel your limbs, but you know they're there because of the tingling.

Duzy, I once had an OBE...I was involved with a lot of meditative practice at the time. The occasion was on my bed, in the early evening...I was getting into that familiar state we're talking about, and I rode that feeling forever. Suddenly, I opened my eyes and looked down at myself laying below. I was struck with a flash of fear and lay gasping on the bed as I came awake out of the blissful peace I had been experiencing. So, yes, I agree that this can lead to OBE's...but I don't recommend the travel unless you have a strong constitution.

Great thread...sorry if I missed anyone...but my finger is getting really sore.

Hm. True, it should not hurt at all. I guess I skipped right by that point :-(
But, none the less, it's still always a good thing to know what you are working with and how to work with it. It's the precieving of 'it' and using it to what ever end that is the importnat training for you. It will teach you to use your mind and intent.

masqua, I hadn't even thought about tuning in to the sourroundings. Good thought. If I'm too near electrical towers it almost hurts. I even hear it in the air. It feels very wrong!

I knew exactly what this thread was going to be about before I opened it. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about.

I never conisdered it an "ability" though. I just thought it was something natural that I for whatever reason liked to do. When I was a kid I used to pretend I was channeling my powers when I did that.

I have no idea what it is, though. I usually do it for a few seconds as well, but I just tried doing it longer, I can, but it's not as strong and I feel like all my blood is rushing to my head.

I secretly still try to will things will my mind, accompanied by doing "this", and this thread has convinced me that we are all either reading way too much into # or that I will take over the world very shortly.

I have, on occasion, become nauseous while doing healing. If I stop and take a break for a few minutes it goes away and I can start right back up. I don't however, go right back to the same location, I have always just presumed that this was an area that wasn't ready yet, and would take too much energy to heal directly.

while at work last night i was concentrating on this while feeling stressed, i forced the feeling through my body, it works, it really does, it calms me down, i don't need no ciggerate to calm me down i just use this technique my own mind can trigger........ does anyone get a glimpse of like true happiness once inawhile while doing this, like it sets the mind free for a short minute or so.. it just makes me wonder how my life would be if i could feel like that all the time. then i get depressed after the feeling goes away, because i fight to get it back.

ok, well let's see, i don't meditate often, that's why i posted this because i'm not sure what this feeling is for............ i'm gonna use an example...... ok. i'm laying in my bed at night, feeling restless, rolling around... so i try to clear my mind, think about nothing, ... and force this feeling to come about, i thought maybe someone would know what i mean but i guess not.

You sure it's not a flatulent ?

Sorry had to say that, couldn't resist

Great job

Use #1 has now been accomplished :-)
Now, as well as continuing to do this, lets add something else in shall we? Try using it to let physical pain go. It works with emotional pain to, but it is more difficult. Good luck.

i just thought that the feeling thing described here happens when you're really tired, or hungover - especially the tingling head thing.

i get these weird flashes of white light, only happens when im trying to go to sleep so the room is in darkness and my eyes are closed and then all of a sudden i get a bright flash of white light behind my eyelids (hope that makes sense), like a camera flash.

cant explain what or why it is. anyone get this happening, or maybe the electrics in my brain is faulty - dunno.

I get that too. It's probably nothing.

Yeah, I get it a lot epiphany

its an abilety to control the amount of "ADRENALIN" through the body.

I can only seem to do it (without jumping outa plane or such)
when Ive had a little bit to drink, but not to much.

usually 3 shotts of whisky or tequilla or absinthe.

I inishiate it by thinking of a cool song or something (NIN)

then it becomes almost automatic and i can control it then

but becouse ur not jumping outa plane or starting a fight, the excess adrenalin creates too much lactic acid in the muscles,

giving you that warm relaxed fuzzy feeling

(also your heart rate goes like when your looking at PORN but not wanking)

sorryif that last bit sounded a bit strange :-0
(note I can only do this mostly when I'm outside walking fast)

Sorry if I am repeating others' responses, I have little computing time these days so I didn't get to read the whole way through this thread.

Anyway, it sounds to me like you are learning to work/channel energy to yourself almost the way a healer does. You probably could explore it further if you wanted to look into reiki/energy work. From what I know, when a person does this, the energy goes where its needed- so if you have tension/sore muscles, they will feel relaxed.

Well it sounds like your meditating unconciously or subconciously to me.
Some natural process that the body does.
My take on it anyways.

I'm just wondering, do i need to practise or what? Can this become a stronger feeling with practise? i concentrated on my lower back area, i could feel a sense of relieve for like 5 seconds, but that's all.

Yes! Practice, practice, practice.

I'm at the point where it is unconcious now. I notice my neck hurts, and then before I even finish forming the thought, woosh, all the tension is gone. You have to learn how to control and manage it. Then you will be able to maintain it. I have worked for up to 5 hours at a time before, on a weekend. I use an alarm now

Practice definitely- it sounds like you are naturally gifted with energy. I recommend doing some research on energy channeling/ light work/ reiki as well. Meditation of course is the best way to start. Umm here this site has a lot of articles and links here
There are better ones out there, so I recommend a google on the above mentioned key words.

I have always been curious has to why i get this feeling sometimes that i control, it's hard to explain how i force it through my body, but it feels relaxin, and it's a very sensitive feeling, it calms my muscles, is this something special, or does everyone have this ability? or does anyone know what i mean? sometimes it's very intense.

I do know the feeling your describing... Right now I'm undergoing some research into a system that will help describe these feelings in a more detailed manner. When the research is complete I plan on making my findings public for discussion so we can refine it.

And I would also like to dismiss the myth that most people Don't meditate.. if we didn't meditate we wouldn't be human. Have you ever read a book and had to reread a section because your mind wandered, you continued reading but didn't absorb what you read? Well you were just meditating.. it goes along the lines of my Doer, Thinker, and Thinker of the Thinker but I won't get into that. Any time you are doing one thing and thinking of another you are meditating, although there are different depths of meditation and its best to use yourself as a base point to focus on, because once you master that you have no need of external stimuli.
