You do insist upon looking at only one side, don't you?

Do you realize that this thread is about the alt-right and not the right generally? The alt-right, literal nazis advocating for 'peacefull' ethnic cleansing and a white ethnostate.

Are you sure this is a hill you want to fight on?

Being an advocate of the 2nd Amendment is a "far right belief" now?

Weird how advocating for an individual's rights is a far right belief. I wonder when that happened.

What happened is ATS has been inundated with far left trolls. Just about every thread on the home screen is anti Trump this, alt right that, etc.

Ppl who made ATS what is was aren't posting anymore bc there are other places and sites to do so and those have block, silence and mute features.

Idk why I logged in...Every time I do I am disappointed by the content.

Somebody needs a space space :'(

I fully realize what the thread is about, but thanks anyhow.

Fight? This is your fight, and those who choose to oppose you for what ever reason. I find it stupid, not to put too fine a point on it.

Y'all sound like a bunch of elementary school kids, all of whom have been caught doing something wrong, and are busily trying blame the others for whatever.

I'm going to continue to point it out.

How exactly do I sound like an elementary school kid and what exactly have I been doing wrong that I'm so embarrassed about? Your argument makes about as much sense to me as your seeming defense of alt-right nazis. It's either projection or misplaced anger I'm seeing.

I still have no idea what the "Alt.Right" is.

I have been a constitutional conservative since I was in high school. I just turned 53 on Friday. While some of my positions have evolved somewhat, the core belief that the Constitution of the United States should be followed to the letter has been an immutable constant with me.

I personally don't believe the "Alt.Right" even exists as a new stand-alone construct. I see no evidence of that whatsoever.

Is it supposed to be a Nazi kind of deal...? If so, historically, Nazis have always been socialists and fascists -- two things totally antithetical to traditional conservative philosophy.

I think "Alt.Right" is just the latest boogeyman conjured by the Left to cover their own failures. Otherwise, i truly have no idea what the hell it is...

Here's a start:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Richard B Spencer, president of the far-right National Policy Institute, made numerous allusions to Nazi ideology during his half-hour speech at a conference in Washington on Saturday.

Don't get too caught up in the nazi bit, follow the name, there are far right groups..

I am talking about it as a collection of beliefs.

Being a advocate of second amendment rights does not make you far right.

Refusing any and all gun control and attending alt-right demonstrations might.

If we can i would rather this did not turn into a debate on second amendment rights as that is not the point of the thread.

A better thread than this would be "Why has the alt-libs power been slipping slowly but now almost totally from the time of Obamas first election". The "alt right" has been gaining ground all over the place in the last 8 years and in the face of hope and change, new generalized name smearing like calling Trump supporters "alt right" and the like.

I can save everyone a lot of time here...

Any group or school of political thought that espouses Nazism of any kind is NOT conservative. The second you hear someone utter the term "Nazi" that person has immediately separated themselves from political conservatism of any kind. They are now promoting the very roots of National Socialism that came directly from Mein Kampf.

That is 100% leftist in origins. Hitler fomented racial and class divides (like Obama), nationalized the financial system (Obama tried), created a state-administered healthcare system (like Obama), and knew that if he could not conquer his neighbors his socialist Utopian Third Reich dream could not be realized (see: "fundamental transformation").

Conservatism empowers the individual to the maximum extent of their constitutionally-guaranteed rights regardless of race, religion, or creed. Conservatism promotes limited government and maximum personal liberty. Conservatives never draw lines between people based upon who they happen to be.

That is leftism.

Please explain that to the people who want to build a wall, keep Muslims out, don't think black lives matter, and who are opposed to free trade. That would be the current GOP.

Sure.

The Constitution applies to US citizens, not illegal Mexicans.

Can you give me a policy example of President Trump "keep[ing] Moslems out"'?

All lives matter. Blacks are not a special class.

Trump supports free trade. He objects to unfair trade.

Is that all you have...?

The trade imbalance needs to be addressed. The deals in place are not working. There will not be many people that are against international trade, when it is done FAIRLY. The Milton Friedman school of economics wasn't working, it has to be done differently. The country is up to it's azz in debt, with estimates of contingent liabilities for the future as high as 200 trillion dollars, it has to be addressed.

So, deny, deflect and deny huh?

You can try and call nazism a left wing thing, but right there, is an Alt-Right leader shouting hail trump, with supporters doing the nazi salute.

Must be nice in your little bubble..

I don't know how I could have been clearer.

The moment anything "Nazi" is invoked by anyone, they immediately identify with the Nazi Party -- an historically socialist left wing institution.

Conservatives are diametrically-opposed to that philosophy.

Pffft... There are Ugandan warlords who chanted "Hail Obama!" I'm sure.

What stupid people chose to do on their own does not change the facts as they exist.

Trump is not a Nazi, but Obama was close.

Never called Trump a Nazi.

You wanted to know where the analogy of the alt-right being called Nazis came from, I showed you.
