I actually think what is essentially dog collars is a bit too much. I don't have problem with increased restrictions and vetting on everyone that comes here from those seven countries that supposedly make up the entire worlds muslim population after listening to others peoples diatribes.

Hell I would be on board with going big brother on them more so than others for a set period of time.

But GPS trackers ?

Come on Law professor!

Good Grief.

President Trump and his Justice Department are being urged to go slow on appealing a court's rejection of their travel ban and follow Germany's example and put GPS ankle bracelets on visitors from the seven targeted nations until a final decision is made

Source

Of course this is a bridge too far.

A GPS tracker would only be useful if the refugees were told where not to go. Without travel restrictions, what would the USA be looking for?

There are idiots all over that propose and do ridiculous things. Let's not worry too much about it. I mean, Obama was supposedly a constitutional lawyer, and look at some of the things that he did while in office that were not permitted by the Constitution, like, say his unconstitutional "recess appointments" to the National Labor Relations Board while the senate was still in session.

Let's not put too much concern into the ramblings of a law professor.

Ahh liberty. The shining beacon on a hill.

Mr President, tear down this statue.

Now, its obviously comically rediculous to suggest this..If Trump decides its a good idea and institutes it, I will assume the cult will then cheer him on as a brilliant man..but until then I think we can all say this is a draconian and dumb idea.

My God! Have conservatives gone insane? This is obviously the conservative agenda and every conservative believes this should be implemented. This guy said it, what more proof do we need that this is part of the conservative agenda? /s

At least that's what conservatives do when a prominent liberal makes a dumb comment, they use a broad brush to stereotype all liberals as believing in what was said.

Terrible idea, very Orwellian.

LOL, Was this idea drafted by ISIS? It would certainly make it easier to get gps enabled bombs to activate.

No No.

There's no room for Logic here.

We must usurp already existing laws based on emotion.

WE have been doing it for decades on criminals.

On criminals I fully am on board with. yes..much cheaper than jails for non violent, make them productive taxpayers on a leash verses a stored financial burden.

This isn't about criminals though, this is about refugees. I think unless there is reason to suspect individually they are high risk, then no, gotta give the benefit of the doubt (but a vetting process with option to tag -some- that may be a bit dodgy..but tbh, if there is cause for concern enough to tag them, then they shouldn't pass the vetting process to begin with.

Germany...dont know what they are doing, dont much care. Germany isn't really a good guide as of late on how to deal with refugees..more of a cautionary tale.

OP nice progressive trap. Caught 2 of them so far who can't read.

I really do not like the idea. It seems better than an outright ban, but optically it looks even worse.
can you say nazi ten times fast?
I am really surprised Germany does it. Germany out of all places.
I hope leftist start protesting germany on that issue.

Good thing the professor is not a politician.

Unnecessary idea, the NSA already tracks everyone, citizen and non-citizen alike.

Locations are tracked through cell phones.

All phone calls are monitored and recorded.

Huge computer programs sift through all the collected data looking for "patterns".

You don't need more tracking devices.

It's all covered.
