Failed to update software - Android - S7 Edge

Hey everyone


I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge phone and using Tracfone service and when I try to install the latest Android updates I get this message ...


"Failed to update software. Visit Samsung service center."


I see this message after the update process and phone reboots itself.

(I'm using WiFi to download the update so it's nothing to do with my provider)

I asked for help on the Samsung forums but haven't recieved any replies yet
so I thought I'd ask here on ATS and see if anyone else is having this problem

Or if Anyone knows how to fix this issue ?

I had an old iphone someone gave me and that happened when I tried to update software.. Never got it to work, so I had to download the update through my computer which worked fine..

No clue if you can do that on android but yea..


Hopefully someone gives you a better answer than that.

Wifi is your issue I think...too many openings from the source to it to you along the way.etc...As another said...its usually effective to use a pc directly.

Have you tried to manually update the phone using Samsung's KIES software?

The only response I got on the Samsung forum was this ....

"Take it to a Samsung store usually found in Best Buy"



If I do that, it's probably gonna cost money ?
