Thanks for the invite. Sorry I am late.

I seldom partake, but I Have a

that has been in my fridge since Thanksgiving.

May I purpose a toast?

To each his own, may we all be happy.

I doubt I can offer any advice on the savory after taste of sweet bitterness, but I can keep my lips wet.

That is usually one of my "out to eat" fallbacks. Goes great with a Jalisco especial plate.

Now I'm craving a Dos Equis with lime and a good Carne Asada.

So, what is the warm saki thing about? I've heard that mentioned before.

Some sake is best hot. There's basically four categories (but dozens of types) of sake. On the rocks, chilled, warm, and hot. The hot ones, you double boil it essentially. Since I'm ghetto, I use a metal travel mug, fill it with sake, throw the mug in a pot of water, then heat up the water. With the right sake, it's amazing.

I had to look that up, yeah, that looks like the proper way to do it. I didn't know people were doing it that way. I was much more uncouth about it and just dropped the shotglass into my pint. The lava lamp looking way looks good though.

I scored 2 boxes of them in Darwin at the drag strip one night driving wifey's Toyota. Don't remember the headache. Didn't remember the rest of the weekend for that matter.

Anyways, I enjoyed them from there after.

Ozeki Saki, baby! Does that count?

I love sake. Since it is a beer thread, have you ever had a sake bomb?

I just had to google that. It sounds awesome! I don't have any beer here, though. Normally, I only stock the fridge with beer if certain folk are coming over. But I do like some of the stouts (surprisingly).

It's surprisingly tasty. But I wouldn't do a sake bomb with a stout, I think.

And here I am drinking tea. The humanity.

I'm a tea fiend so don't feel bad. I only busted out the sake because I had to cancel going to a party with my boyfriend tonight but, since I already arranged a sitter, I'm alone with big ole' bottle of sake and Netflix.

GO ME!

Doesn't sound so bad. Is it warmed sake?

Not this bottle. Even though it's dry, it's not the best heated. There's a different brand I get for heating and it taste like heavenly syrup going down. My other favorite is a totally unfiltered sake. After you shake the heck out of it, it pours out like milk. Soooooo good.

Nectar of the gods.

More specifically, it's the nectar of this goddess, Inari Ōkami:

She's a Kami goddess of rice and sake (among a couple of other things).

I think I just met my future ex-wife. Any goddess of wine is a goddess of mine.

I refuse to drink light beer.

I discovered ice-distilled brews this year! Even higher alcohol content.

Bud Ice was one of the first beers I ever had. So, what are some pricier options?

I wouldn't know!

Mickey's Ice and Modelo for me. I also refuse to drink those 7 dollar ooh la la "craft" beers.

My best friend loves Asahi. He always wanted me to try it, but it's harder than hell to find here. It's like when the bosses come over here from Georgia, they are all pissed because there is no Yengling.

While Rum is ma favorite, beer is right next to it , among ma goto beer is off-course Red Stripe and no not due to only ethnic chauvinism , I love the taste.

Asahi super dry..yes I know many love Kiren and I'll drink it buuut whenever someone have me make a beer run I am bringing back Asahi.

Rolling Rock..blast from the past when I was in my early 20ts living in the Village NYC west 4th st, we had roof parties, folks sunbathing in the summertime an assortment of ethnic takeouts and music blasting .
German Beers with unpronounceable names.
Iam also partial to Heineken although I've been told, that the only reason I like it is because I like the bottle..not true, but that's what they say
