I didn't realize I was to be locked into my chair until the discussion was over.

Really? I was clearly talking about Kali..

How in the world did you take that so out of context?

Going berzerk about the temporary ban is not proof of liberals being against vetting. Or are we truly in dystopia where if you disagree with methodology you disagree with an entire thing?

I like our discussions Kali, and always have fun with them.

But come on, its obvious you are reaching here.

You are changing your argument because you kind of look silly.

But thats ok, I will bite.

No this is not proof of liberals being against vetting. I don't believe that was the point of the OP. The point is that Canada rejected millions of people with not only no outrage, but people praising Canada as a liberal haven.

So I answered your point, will you answer mine?

If liberals agree with vetting as you say, why are they getting so outraged and hysterical over Trumps increased vetting? Its not like they are having a reasonable discussion about how much vetting is enough, they are screaming things like its fascist, racists, and the beginning of the end of America.

This is absolutely appalling. Those fascist, xenophobic, Cis-splaining, misogynistic, islamaphobic pigs. I demand that these maple nazis explain themselves or face dire consequences in the form of Facebook memes and Starbucks protests.

Meh, we're syrup sucking iceholes

The video Krakatoa posted was 8 minutes long, I watched the 8 minute video and have now responded. I've been around here a long time, integrity in tact. Don't make assumptions.

Thanks. Were those US numbers only? If so, in 2015 the USA rejected a little over 3.1 million visa applications. That's a lot more than Canada's 1.4 million.

Thank you... one idiot. I stand corrected. The narrative of liberals wanting no vetting is now completely warranted.

You are calling a respected US Senator an idiot?

I did not take a minute to think before I fired off a reply.

Did you miss the instant hyperbole in reaction to the OP? Including your own:

Hmm... why is that wrong for the US to do again?

Like Liberals and Leftists were supposed to be butthurt and outraged that bleeding heart Trudeau betrayed us by rejecting immigrants and refugees from our sacred cow, Canada.

The temporary ban is pointless and is only causing harm, it included current visa, green card holders as well as permanent residents... those are people that have already been vetted and LIVE in the United States. The ban does not include nations where there is known heavy terrorist activity that have actually had nationals come to the US and have carried out terror attacks on US soil. The banned nations have not had any person originating in those nations carry out a terror attack on US soil.

And Kali, just to prove I am not a total (I'm just a partial) partisan jerk, I will take your side on that video.

I can't watch them right now, but I think that it is the same video I saw yesterday.

Antediluvian did a good job of analyzing this, and I think he is right.

here is the thread

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I think Murphy is not saying we shouldn't vet, he is saying the europe waiver program has almost no vetting, so we should focus on it first.

Although it is a confusing statement.

Anyways people can check out that thread and decide for themselves.

Since, as a U.S. Senator he represents his state, and was elected based upon the voters of his state, she must be calling the entire state idiots. After all, this is one man representing an entire state.

Unless Kali wants to move his/her goal posts yet again to avoid being called out on his/her blind obsession with that democratic-reality bubble he/she lives under.

I agree with some of what you are saying, but I have almost no problem with the halt (not ban) of people from these countries.

I did have a problem with how it was rolled out, and made this thread on it.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

But you are making reasonable arguments here. That is not what all of the people on all of those links I gave you are doing.

They are screaming "Racism! Fascism! Impeach him!" Some people are suggesting military coups, or violence against him.

That is what is outrageous.

You seem to be saying you think this policy will be ineffective and causes an undue burden on innocent people. I may disagree with you, but those are reasonable arguments.

The OP is pointing out the hypocrisy to the crew shouting things like "No borders" or claiming that not allowing these people in is racist, and yet praising Canada who also denies millions of people the right to enter.

So I will ask you again, do you find the reaction of the people I cited to you to be hysterical and over the line?

I don't recall anyone ever saying vetting people applying for entry into a country was a bad thing. I'm sure the US rejected just as many Visas. Vetting works, I'm glad to see you get that finally.

Sooooooooooooo, what's all the outrage and violence about?
