Multiple Arrests Made As Protests Erupt At NYU

Multiple people were arrested when protests erupted at New York University on Thursday night.

Students gathered to demonstrate against a speech being delivered by Vice Media co-founder and conservative actor Gavin McInnes.

Second night in a row for riots. This one at NYU, resulting from the uncompleted speech coming from Rebel Radio's Gavin McInnes.

let em riot and get arrested it`s not like a criminal record will affect their future employment, because even criminals can collect welfare and food stamps.

I do not know about you JinMi , but It seems to me most of these Protesters Spend More Time Pissing and Moaning in the Streets than being with their Families , Working at a Job , Going to School , Reading a Book , Walking the Dog , Cooking Dinner , doing Chores , and just Living a Normal Everyday Life . WTF is Wrong with these People ?

It's been pointed out. It's been argued over and some of the more sensible ones have denounced and spoke out about it. Still, by and large, they are not listening. I'm truly curious if they know they are becoming the monster that they think they are hunting.

Their actions speak louder to their intentions than their words ever could.

The good news is that across the world this movement seems to be dying off, but a new one will take it's place in the future, and people should always remain vigilant against it. Seems to be a cycle of sorts.

Like now, it won't come with a stern big-brother like sinister face, but with a smile, and a hand outstretched to the poor and the hopeless, promising them a better future...



Likely it'll be an already existing movement, with legitimate grievances and reasonable demands, but it will be hijacked by the same extremists who hijack every movement and bend it to their own ends, so that it suits their vision.

Its a disease called liberalism . Caught from exposure to mainstream media and american educational institutions . There is no known cure at this time .

You're right. Candidate Trump complained that President Obama didn't address the violent and damaging protests surrounding his rallies.

Since the right to freedom of speech is enshrined in the constitution, doesn't the Federal government have a duty to protect people against those seeking to deny them that right?

Freedom of speech protects citizens from the government against silencing them. It does act to give it a platform nor is it supposed to choose a side. In response to any speech all laws still apply as to the repercussions for breaking them.

I get that it's mainly to prevent government prohibition, but should it not also be considered in the light of this organized, violent intimidation?
After all, it's not healthy for society to routinely allow one view to stifle debate of the opposite view, is it?
