Yes, the school was subtly complicit in helping to create this environment.

It's a tactic that's been seen and used before.

Sure, you can have your speaker come in under these conditions. Then at the last minute, the uni alters the conditions of the agreement, usually by demanding more money from the group. In this case, the group had a wealthy backer who was able to pony up on short notice.

Then on the day of the event which the university knew full well was going to be highly controversial with a speaker who had drawn large protests in the past, there was barely any police/security presence there and still no additional as the crowd gathers.

This is how the protests are subtly encouraged to grow and get out of control.

Sorry, but just NO. These are not liberals! The proof of that is in their actions. The fact that people are calling this lot liberals just shows the complete ignorance of what liberal philosophy actually is. Just as Hillary and Bernie tried to claim liberalism as their own, tried to convince people that liberals want to shut down free speech and sixteen other kinds of freedom, these people want you to believe that and you do because you've never been taught what liberal philosophy actually means. To the masses, liberal philosophy was practiced by the rich white guys who founded this county so it must be bad. These people exhibiting the bad behavior are as far from liberals as one can get.
These are criminals who love to make trouble for everyone. Most likely a goodly percentage of the troublemakers are being paid to do so. They've been tricked into thinking that destruction of people and property are the proper way to make changes happen. Sane people simply don't think that way.
It was the same in the '60s, a few troublemakers were sent in to disrupt peaceful marches and it only takes a few.
It was the duty of the University and City police to keep the peace, to keep people from being beaten senseless in the streets. If they didn't do their duty, it is on their head. That is not to say that the peaceful protestors didn't have an obligation to leave immediately when the troublemakers showed up and started their game of vandalism and beating people with sticks.

The garb these leftist anarchists wore is eerily similar to the garb ISIS wears.

Have you not read the OP? Did you note the author? It couldn't be any more plain that there are a multitude of leftists who are non-violent. This thread was created to condemn the actions the author was witnessing. Perhaps you require sackcloth and ashes in the public square?

The people showing up to these protests to set fires and break things are of no particular political ideology, they get their jollies destroying what others have produced. They need to be locked away from society.

You are welcome to your opinion. These are terrorists. They maced one girl, there were bloody injuries, destruction of property, etc. They threatened the lives of others both verbally and physically. Legally...if you are in fear for the life of another person, you are allowed to shoot the attacker. In the bigger scheme...allowing this type of action to go unhampered simply vindicates the group (liberal) to continue and therefore escalate the violence. The only way to stop a bully or a terrorist is with stronger and deliberate violence right back at them.

So yes...I would have had no problem with a cop shooting a person hammering on a girl with a pipe or whatever. No problem at all. And everyone involved that threatened harm or caused harm should be in jail.

And back to the shooting. It WILL happen. Us law abiding citizens are sick of the liberal whiners and thugs injuring others, suppressing our constitutional right to free speech, etc. Eventually...if this is ALLOWED to continue, one of these jackasses will be shot dead by a concerned citizen.

If you don't want that...than maybe you should be more concerned over those actually breaking the law, than those responding to their violence. They drew first blood...literally.
