Of course Russia was behind the rebels, in response to the West overthrowing the democratically elected government of Ukraine. The West executes a coup against a Russian neighbor, and you expect Russia to do nothing? Come on now.

The people who starred and flagged this thread clearly didn't read the OP or the article he linked to, or they just endorse lying.

This is so stupid. Why would Ukraine attack Russia or their rebels and provoke the issue?

It's like Taiwan with China. Taiwan knows better to provoke China because they know that China would just clean house if they attacked Taiwan. The same applies for Ukraine. Russia is the aggressor here. I know it's hard to believe, but it just happened.

So this is the communique from Ukraine to their allies.

“For the last two days, the Russian occupation forces carried out massive attacks across the line,” firing with rocket artillery, heavy mortars and other long-range weapons, the statement said. European monitors reported heavy shelling of Avdiivka since Sunday."

This is not just tempers flairing......the heavy shelling signals a major offensive by Russia.

According to Russian forum members at russiadefence.net, this is once again a Kiev attack on eastern Ukraine.

One of these is not like the other.

There has been some unrest in the Ukraine for awhile now, I saw some homes bombed about a month ago... there are a lot of pro unification with russia by the people, and there is a lot of anti Russian unification by those holding the power... it's sort of a Syria situation. Home brewed and Russia doesn't want a civil war that close to it's door step. So it's some have been pro Russia and some against Russia...

Stabilzing the situation is what is occuring, since many of the Ukraine want to join with Russia to be better served and secure? Russia is probably a bit too close into it... like if Mexico said screw mexico we want the US to take us over... make Mexico better and then civil war broke out, if we stepped in? Well, the Mexican government in a coup? We would look in the same position Russia is in with the Ukraine. Would we be trying to take over Mexico? No it's just that a lot of the citizens would say hey please come make Mexico a part of the US enough is enough.

Although not officially in NATO, GWB and Obama both backed Ukraine. You should also look up the rhetoric of right wing politicians regarding their support for Ukraine before Trump got involved. So yeah, they may not be as close to us as the UK, but we had backed them because we know what Putin is up to in wanting to spread his love throughout europe.

Think about this for a second. We just went through a week where we told people who supported our troops in Iraq that they can't come into our country because they were from war zones. Now we're going to back out of supporting Ukraine as well....something that we promised them we would do if Russia came knocking.

Our credibility as a country has gone to sh it since Trump showed up. Unfortunately, I fear that it is already too late. Putin knew that with a Trump presidency, we would in-fight with each other while he makes his move. Brilliant for him, bad for the world.

Obama and Europe had their chance in 2014 when pro-Russian separatists invaded Ukrainian government buildings, military bases and telecommunication facilities in Crimea. I'd say the country had already "gone to sh it" if all Obama did was slap some sanctions on Russia. Bare chested Putin was quaking in his saddle, I'm sure. Obama's failures cannot be blamed on Trump but if Democrat approve his cabinet, including a Secretary of State instead of having State run by the 4th in command, then Trump can finish what the last Administration allowed to fester.

The list grows longer.

Russiia hasn't attacked Ukraine...
Pro-Russian forces are fighting within Ukraine, titles a little misleading....

In any event, Donald Trump is the president of America. He is not the president of Ukraine. He is not the president of Russia. What goes on between Ukraine and Russia is up to them. Russians also cannot conquer Ukraine because of ethnic differences. Insurgency would wreck hell on Russians if they try that.

Do a search, there's lot of videos online right now. I just posted one video, there are more disturbing videos out there.
