As the world of hypocrisy turns, now we have 3 (known) Democrat Senators that were very concerned about Syrian refugees settling in the U.S.

And of course, Senator Chuck Schumer was one !!

He wasn't crying for concern back then either it seems.

Senator Dick Durbin was the other one.

Senator Joe Manchin was one who actually wrote a letter to Obama at the time.

And guess what ---- they were worried about *Security* !!

Different story today. Wonder why?

Phonies Inc.

Schumer: Refugee pause may be necessary

11/17/15

Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the third ranking member of the Senate Democratic leadership, on Tuesday said it may be necessary to halt the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States.

Centrist Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) signed a letter to President Obama Monday calling on him not to allow another Syrian refugee into the country unless federal authorities can guarantee with 100-percent assurance they are not connected to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said halting the program “is a simplistic reaction to a very complicated challenge.”

“Background checks need to be redoubled in terms of refugees but if we’re talking about threats to the United States, let’s put this in perspective,” he said.

So much tu quoque, you found 3 of... well there are a lot more than 3 sorry.

Speaking of, you know what President Trump really wants to do:

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.

You're fooling nobody.

That was only 14 months ago, I can`t think of anything that has changed that would make them now decide it is perfectly safe.

You know there wouldn't even be any refugees from Syria if Obama, Hillary and Petraeus hadn't started this war in the first place, and then seeked to prolong it at every opportunity.

6 years of foreign policy dedicated to supporting and promoting radical Islamism in secular middle east countries.

Now they want to allow the entry into the US at a rate of hundreds of thousands, and one only has to look at Europe in 2016 to see the outcome of that.

Utter madness.

Similarly, it's unlikely Mr. Trump's opinions on trying to institute a complete Muslim ban have changed:

Especially since he asked Rudy how to do it legally.

Oh he is certainly trying. Some slightly more reasonable people have, so far, constrained his hand.

There is no "trumpphobia." Guess what - not everyone can be painted with the same brush.

In a 289-137 vote, the House on Thursday easily approved legislation that requires new screening requirements on refugees from Syria and Iraq before they can enter the United States.

Forty-seven Democrats defied President Obama’s veto threat and backed the bill — enough to override a presidential veto given the six Democrats and two Republicans who missed the vote.

Bunch of hypocrits!

Are you quite certain?

It certainly didn't start with them:

The public history of relations between the US and Syria over the past few decades has been one of enmity. Assad condemned the 9/11 attacks, but opposed the Iraq War. George W. Bush repeatedly linked Syria to the three members of his ‘axis of evil’ – Iraq, Iran and North Korea – throughout his presidency. State Department cables made public by WikiLeaks show that the Bush administration tried to destabilise Syria and that these efforts continued into the Obama years. In December 2006, William Roebuck, then in charge of the US embassy in Damascus, filed an analysis of the ‘vulnerabilities’ of the Assad government and listed methods ‘that will improve the likelihood’ of opportunities for destabilisation. He recommended that Washington work with Saudi Arabia and Egypt to increase sectarian tension and focus on publicising ‘Syrian efforts against extremist groups’ – dissident Kurds and radical Sunni factions – ‘in a way that suggests weakness, signs of instability, and uncontrolled blowback’; and that the ‘isolation of Syria’ should be encouraged through US support of the National Salvation Front, led by Abdul Halim Khaddam, a former Syrian vice president whose government-in-exile in Riyadh was sponsored by the Saudis and the Muslim Brotherhood. Another 2006 cable showed that the embassy had spent $5 million financing dissidents who ran as independent candidates for the People’s Assembly; the payments were kept up even after it became clear that Syrian intelligence knew what was going on. A 2010 cable warned that funding for a London-based television network run by a Syrian opposition group would be viewed by the Syrian government ‘as a covert and hostile gesture toward the regime’.

Bunch of hypocrits!

Cool, you found a few more tu quoque targets.

Also a lot of those who didn't support the measure, while apparently supporting the idea that former President Obama wanted to veto such a thing.

yes there is, it`s the irrational fears of what trump might do, trumpphobia

just as irrational fears of what Islamic people might do is islamaphobia.

hasn`t he already actually done enough things to be outraged at without having to be outraged at things he may never do?

Someone who has repeatedly said he wanted to do THING, and instead limited what he wanted to do in order to 'legally' do Thing... doesn't mean that he won't end up doing THING.

The fact that you think this is an irrational concern is puzzling.
Donald Trump wants to ban Muslims from entering America.
Donald Trump already banned people from some Muslim countries from entering America.
Thus, Donald Trump isn't going to ban Muslims...?

Don't forget - Rudy Giuliani gave it away in a #ing TV interview - Donald Trump asked him how to ban Muslims legally.

A lot of people were wrong then, and I didn't support one of them.

I didn't ever vote for Hillary Clinton, because of just that. Not that my vote matters, given where I live.
