I found this spectacular picture of a Snail and wanted to share it:

And then I thought 'why not find a few more and make a thread'?

I don't have any information to share on Snails, I just posted these for their beauty.

BUT - if you are out on a hot day and see a Snail out in the Sunshine please very carefully pick him up and tuck him away somewhere cool so he doesn't dry up.

If anyone else would like to add pictures, not necessarily of Snails, that they find beautiful I'd be pleased to see them.

I have mixed emotions on snails. Where I live, Everytime it rains, you'll find them EVERYWHERE. Stuck to the door frame of my house, the screens on the windows, just everywhere. But I still find them pretty neat and my daughter and nieces love to play with them.

My ex-employer hated snails and took steps to eradicate them. Then she moved house, taking two old ornamental chimneys from the garden with her.

I happened to look inside one of them as it was moved into the new garden and before it had the plants put back in. It had become home to dozens of snails, all sticking to the inside walls.

I kept very, very quiet about that.

Haha! Leave it to you! (I feel the same, btw)

Berenike, that snail drinking from the acorn shell is absolutely beautiful.

Nice thread.

The second pic has it on a mushroom cap, instead of in a mushroom cap ( 😋 )

I've probably saved a few snails, I mostly save fuzzy caterpillars.

Oh, yeah, they can be cute in pictures---Not so much when they're eating your lettuce or strawberry plants away to nothing. I know they're a part of nature but I hate when the little buggers start to over-run the gardens. I fling them out of the gardens to the birds that always seem to hang around waiting for tidbits.

I've heard that surrounding your lettuces etc with egg shells will keep snails and slugs away. They can't slither over them.

Uh huh. It's insane. Out here they can be considered an infestation. Lol. I'd never seen so many snails before I moved here. They're HUGE too. Maybe next time it rains I'll take some pictures and share them here.

Yup...our culture/people eat them too, or use them for natural medicines...

I'd like to hear about how the snails are used as natural medicines. I have never heard of this and am always up to learning new things.
