Out of principle. Right wingers get to behave like children and block Obama, but we can't do the same? No, you will get a taste of your own medicine here. Plus, he's a pro-birther guy. That's a no-no for the left.

He's actually not a bad pick. But unfortunately for him, he gets to be political fodder.

If you can admit that he's not a bad pick, then why tie yourself to partisanship over principle?

How are democrats going to obstruct if they are in the minority?

Ah, but when you hold all the branches, you can bypass the obstructionism.
This won't end in a stalemate or with a new appointee, you realize?

I wasn't a fan of what happened with Garland, but you may want to rethink your opinion here.

No matter what the dems do, this pick is inevitable. So you seem to be wasting your tit-for-tat thing.

Or put another way, ok let the dems filibuster, then according to you that makes them even with the republicans, right?

How many times do the dems get to fillibuster, or refuse to show up for hearings on cabinet members before they are even?

And do the republicans then get to get even when a Dem is in the white house again?

Look the dems know nothing they can do will change this man being a justice, so whhy not take the high ground and just give him a vote, and then tell the American people they are better than the republicans?

I'm not saying that you can't do that. If that's what you've got to do...

I was simply wondering why you would choose partisanship if you believed the candidate was not a bad selection. You've answered that question.

Pelosi should recognize that we need to seat this SCOTUS justice before we can say this SCOTUS justice will do.

Nancy Pelosi probably considers anyone to the right of Chairman Mao to be 'well outside the mainstream.' Then again, in her district, she may be right.

It's Nancy Pelosi.
I don't understand why anybody would care about what she thinks.

Pelosi is probably on the streets trying to get folks to sing This Land is Your Land....

Great pick by Trump... He's what we need in the SC... I can't beleive the Dems will hold this man's nomination up...

They don't want to force the nuke option, (which I can't stand)..

Judge Gorsach is only going to return status quo to the SC... replacing Scalia...

If they (DEMS) pull this now, what the heck are they going to do in a few months when Pres. Trump gets to nominate the next SCOTUS seat?

Tread carefully Dems.. just sayin

The Democrats are foolish to pick this fight now.

Gorsuch just restores the status quo and equilibrium to the court. The next pick will likely be the one who could tip it one way or the other. That's when they will need to fight. If they do it now, they expend all their political capital and may force and nuclear option too early.
