While researching this I found it came from this site -

worldnewsdailyreport.com...

That site has another article about a whale found in Farmington City Utah. There is a Fox13now news report talking about people calling the city police to ask about the incident. The police stated it was a false story and no whale was found. I would imagine the OK whale story is the same - a hoax.

Here is the Utah whale Hoax article - worldnewsdailyreport.com...
Here is the Fox news report - fox13now.com...

Worldnewsdaily is a satire site like the onion.

This should probably be moved to the hoax bin imho.

Not really a hoax rather an artistic performance (see below). But, a usual, some $$ Youtuber repost the original photos for their own $$ interest...

The original French paper says that this is an art project, that happened last July in west France near the "Vilaine" river that crossed Rennes (a west French city):

Roughly translated from French:

A false whale of several meters was hoisted out of the Vilaine in Rennes this morning.

The cetacean is visible just in front of the Mabilais building, quai Saint-Cyr. A security perimeter has been set up. A false whale ran aground in the Vilaine in Rennes at the level of the Mabilais building.

The body of the cetacean was hoisted on the quai Saint-Cyr creating the surprise of the Rennes citizen who were in this area this morning. On the social networks many residents have already posted images of the whale.

An artistic performance:

Men in white suits, with scientific equipment, are currently around the whale that is protected by a perimeter security. As in a movie where police officers delineate a crime scene. Everything seems true but it is a fact an artistic performance of a Belgian company as part of the festival of "Tombées de la nuit".
