Here it is, someone had to...
Unfortunatly it´s the weird german guy who is always missunderstood but # it I´m taking the heat.

To those who find rape jokes acceptable or funny, I want to say this.

Reflect on what you are joking about, soulless being that you are.

Edit 1 minute after post: It´s not about politics, it´s not about free speech. You are entitled to what you find funny. Having the right, does not always make it the right thing.

I try to explain the "I have the right" idiocy with this.

I have the right to jump into a pool of sharks who haven't been fed in weeks, but I am not that stupid.
Free speech comes with the assumption that the speaker also not be a complete idiot. If he is, you also have the right to identify him/her. Consider it a public service.

Not sure about the identifying part but how I see it, particular in the USA, the opinion of many is that everything falls under free speech, even insults, lies.. That´s my impression, don´t blame me on it.

Edit: Although most of my english input comes from ATS, so...

Hannibal Buress once responded to Bill Cosby saying he can talk down to blacks because he's black with "yea, but you also rape women."

I find that rape joke to be wholly acceptable and appropriate.

Either you can joke about everything or you joke about nothing.

You don't have the right to not be offended. But you can choose not to listen.

It´s not that easy: everything or nothing. Of course one can keep telling his self that simple line to not have to think about it much. Civility.

Here Is Sarah Silverman's Rape Joke:

“No, because they make a comic seem so edgy and so dangerous. And the truth is, it’s like the safest area to talk about in comedy. Because who’s gonna complain about a rape joke? I mean, I would say rape victims, but they’re traditionally not complainers.”

That´s not a joke, that´s the sad truth. And she capitalizes on it.

Of course, anyone who disagrees with you is wrong.

Silly me.

I forgot you were the ultimate authority on everything in world.

I agree in this instance. With crude jokes, timing, context, and person/place makes all the difference.

Bill sure did love puddin, puddin his D# where it doesn't belong.

The problem is that at this point in history, somebody somewhere is bound to be offended by whatever. For christ's sake, people were pissed off at Bush Senior for not liking broccoli.

So when we start inhibiting what's allowed to be talked about in entertainment, where does it stop? I'm not a big fan of the slippery slope argument, but in this case it's wholly applicable.

Don't talk about rape.
Or race.
Or gender.
Or sexuality in general.
Or religion.
Or fat people.
Or skinny people.
Or disabled people.
Or violence.
Or politics.

The list is literally endless.

Oh come on. Have you not read that very small OP? It´s not about that. THIS is something everyone should easy understand. We are talking about rape. Not some opinion on politics.

or snowflakes
or sjw
or libtards
or conservatards

or any of those buzzwords. But I guess, one had to come up with "you feel offended". Duh

I just repeated a rape joke, and I don't see anything funny about rape either.

The joke was funny though.

See, I pretend to have some humor, just not when it´s about violence or rape.

I once made the colour drain from a persistent young offenders face when I explained to him how much all those old prison queens would be eagerly awaiting his arrival, and how, on the upside, he would probably never suffer from constipation again. After that he went on the straight and narrow and is now a productive member of society. Does that count as an acceptable rape joke?
