This quote by Plato sums up my thoughts on the matter, because America (her economy and social division) needs fixing and existing methods over the past 50+ years have proven ineffective.....
In politics we presume that everyone who knows how to get votes knows how to administer a city or a state. When we are ill... we do not ask for the handsomest physician, or the most eloquent one.”

It was an attempt to crap on a Trump speech from a position of complete bias. OP used an article from a left-leaning source to support his/her bias.

Oh, wow
Wouldn’t it be great if we all could wake up tomorrow and miraculously we had another president, Hillary, Obama again, Bernie, even Romney and find out this has all been a bad FAKE NEWS dream and Trump is still hosting Apprentice and all is well

Bruh. Did you really just go right to Hitler? I mean I know that's a common meme when it comes to Trump but...seriously?
Your entire freaking point is that he didn't mend fences with the intelligence community. Got it.
Except members of the intelligence community were the ones applauding him and laughing at his pithy comments. But somehow that doesn't count in your book, because somebody in the media told you it doesn't count?
Dismissing it as "just polite applause" is asinine and infantile. Nobody was obligated to applaud him there. It wasn't Congress, there was no party obligation to stand up and clap for him or laugh at his comments.
I've never once said they applauded every last thing he said, so I'm gonna go ahead and torch your strawman like it deserves.
The hard-on some of you folks have for Trump rivals the hard-on others had for Obama. It's hysterical to observe so many on ATS doing the same things they decried when others did.
There were laughing and applauding before their new boss
If that's the case, then why wasn't everybody doing it? Why is the director going to the media saying he's mad? Can't possibly be because some people are okay with him, right?
At some point, hopefully, logic will return to debates on ATS.

Here's the full speech.
Cringeworthy.
Ex-CIA chief Brennan bashes Trump over speech during CIA visitext
"Former CIA Director Brennan is deeply saddened and angered at Donald Trump's despicable display of self-aggrandizement in front of CIA's Memorial Wall of Agency heroes," Nick Shapiro said in a statement. "Brennan says that Trump should be ashamed of himself."
One source who attended Trump's appearance said many people there were troubled by the political aspect of the remarks, in which the president speculated about how many people in the room may have voted for him.Trump spent much of his speech -- which he gave in front of a memorial wall that honors the 117 CIA officers who have fallen in the line of duty -- focusing on the size of the crowd size at his inauguration, his appearance on magazine covers and saying he "has a running war with the media."
that we should have “taken the oil” in Iraq (a notion that is politically daft, economically unnecessary, and militarily all-but-impossible) and that maybe we’ll have the opportunity to do so now.

For people who think there was no problem with the speech because a few Trump fanatics clapped like seals at the speech

Should I post his seemly unlimited gaffes all searchable in YouTube for you?
a Vintage Trump speech set to set things right with the CIA likely exploded like a bomb with the CIA people
An official said the visit “made relations with the intelligence community worse” and described the visit as “uncomfortable.”
Authorities are also pushing back against the perception that the CIA workforce was cheering for the president. They say the first three rows in front of the president were largely made up of supporters of Mr. Trump’s campaign.
There were about 400 members of the workforce who RSVP’d for the event out of thousands who received an invitation in their email late last week. Officials dismiss White House claims that there were people waiting to get into the event.
