Hello everyone.

I'd like to say that whether you wanted the left or the right wing of the death vulture to win the race, that now it is over.
We can influence things beyond elections. We need to be informed to do so.

If you like to take the time.

Let's see what our president is like over the years.

So, this sounds like you're really trying to be unbiased. But then you watch the video and it only shows him in a positive light. It's hard to be open-minded when you present something which is clearly slanted in a pre-determined direction. Did he never say anything in his life that could be construed as negative? Or are people only the sum of the things we want them to say?

I'm open to Trump and I hope he's a good president. But I'm also ready to hold him accountable if he is a bad one. We should all adopt this point of view. This video sort of comes off as propaganda.

And it sounds like your mind is made up without the interviews.

Agreed we will see what happens.

Thanks for this video. A must watch. I only hope and pray that he can achieve his goals because this country truly will be the greatest nation once again!

It's words from his mouth.

Until I see his actions that's what we will go by right?

I'm trying to stay ahead on information curves in absence of media influence.

Full disclosure:

I'm a leftie sort of.. A hippie.. Like a guy who loves everyone and wishes we just talk this all out and go to the stars together..

I couldn't bring myself to vote.

But I am trying to learn as much as I can about our president.

NOW THINK with me please..

We have to know what he's been saying. we MUST know this..
THEN we compare that to his actions.

get it?

Great job on the thread.

So..Maybe he is the outsider we have all been looking for.... Depending on how he uses his business acumen, it could go one of 2 ways...It could end up benefitting everyone or just the rich people.
I'm feeling more hopeful about him then I did before though.

Politicians are good at promising.

Let's see if Trump can deliver, because while his words are pretty without action to back them up they are hollow.

The little people eh? I don't want to offend you so much, and I have seen many of those interviews before. No matter, my personal opinion is that there is only Donald Trump that matters in those interviews at any given moment, regardless of what is said. I know he has hurt little people, I know he is deferential when it suits, but mostly devisive but still it's about him at the end of the day. I would put him where the sun doesn't shine for so many reasons.

I'm not what you would call a Trump supporter.
This will be a non divisive thread if WE can so help it.

the point of the thread is to compare what he has said to his actions.
So first know what he said. Meet the president.
Then you can better fact check and hold him to the fire in the future.
OR even say damn he really meant what he said in this particular instance.

Are we all clear on this?

star for you.

Well you can look at it two ways..
What he's saying makes him an outsider..

but then again he's been doing presidential sounding interviews since 1980..

Conspiracy!?

xfiles music..

At no point did I disagree with any of what you said here.

SO THINK with me please..
You only showed the good things. You didn't show the bad things.
People are a sum of the good and bad.
OTHERWISE all you made was propaganda.
Get it?

Don't get offended. I wasn't talking to you in my post ok?
I didn't think you disagreed with me.

I want to look at "Promises" specifically.

And compare those with what happens.

that is all.

oh and you are welcome to post other things from his mouth if you wish.
I'm not a dictator of this thread.

post weird negative things he has said that involve presidency specifically would be my focus, and
we can see if those things come true.

I know what he has said, I know much of what he has done, and it's not so good, and I don't want him impinging on my part of the world in any shape or form, it's as simple as that.
Like I said, I have done much fact checking over a long time, and what he says and does doesn't hold up thus far, but is consistent in it's wrongness.

I just watched this video from PBS now.

The really old bloke had some very alarming statisitics - there were 8,000,000 (8 million!!) more factory jobs in the USA in 1978 than there are today. And the population was lower at a shade under 223 million.

That right there is the part that makes me so very angry with our collective governments. The same trend has swept through every western nation. In my own home town when I was growing up in the 1980's we had a factory that made men's shirts and a dairy factory. The main street had every kind of shop that one needed. One could literally get everything they needed in the one town. A real economic wealth indicator is how new the cars are people drive I tend to find. And in the 1980's most people had cars that were under 5 years old.

Fast forward to 2016, the factories are gone. The shops have mostly gone and quite a few of those cars that were shiny and new in the 1980's are still roaming the streets, looking very much worse for wear.

While life has gotten better for people in the developing world, we are being dragged backwards. And look at what they are giving us in return... It sure is not gratitude. Capitalism NEEDS to change and move toward make at home mentality with imports being limited to food, raw materials and items a country cannot manufacture itself.

And it is why that while I am not American, I watch what he does with great interest. Because the USA tends to lead the economic trends for the rest of us.

The average car on the road today is 11 years old.

While I can't post the graphic here, have a look at this link below. It factually illustrates what I said for the USA (I was talking NZ, but the trend is the same)

www.statista.com...

In the 13 years from 2003 to 2016, the average age of the national fleet has risen from 9.7 years to 11.6. In that same time period the national debt went from about 9 trillion to 18.

Cars are something that we like to keep new, but when money is tight people hang on to them longer.

The combined ownership (new and used) has also increased from about 41 months in Q1 2005 to about 66 months Q1 2015.

www.autonews.com...

Trump is quite right. America is in deep trouble... (financially that is)
