Trazadone?

Never heard of it, which, I suppose, should come as no surprise to anyone.

It's the VA's version of aspirin.

Why not call it that then?

'course, the VA, in my outside looking in experience, does things bass-ackwards, so I shouldn't be surprised.

So, you can't sleep? Trazodone.
Feeling blue? Trazodone.
Feeling too jittery? Trazodone.
Feeling pissed off over stupid crap? Trazodone.

It's their 'go to' thing of first choice.

If Trump pulls a Trumpy we can set our clocks back to the Stone age. We'll be lighting our cubans with flint.

Trazadones an old school ssri.

Its good for putting you to sleep and helping restore seratonin reserves in the brain.

Also if you take too much of it youll hallucinate pretty good. But pretty safe for most part.

Ah. You got me. I actually thought you meant aspirin aspirin.

So a typical pharmacological "band-aid" that all too many in the medical field resort to...rather than reading medical journals with research in 'em.

A few years ago when I was, well I still am, in therapy for my own brand of issues relating to trauma, that's what my first councilor wanted to do...dope me up.

I don't recall what he wanted me to start using, but I decided against being drugged into a stupor, and went to see another doctor who actually turned out to be an old friend I went to school with--she was married at the time.

Lot's of talk, tears and assorted angstie behaviour later, and while the issues are still there, and probably always will be, they're not so debilitating now--I can actually sleep a little when they come calling.
