Lily Was Here (1989)
De kassière (original title)

I swear I have never seen this dutch movie and yet I know this song from years ago.

Does anyone know what other movies it may have been part of the soundtrack.

Thanks to all

Looks like it's from a movie called De kassière from '89, a Dutch movie which is also known by the alternative title Lily was Here.

No I know one was instrumental and Glens has singing, whilst similar I distinctly recall the "Lily was Here" instrumental elsewhere

eaglesonlinecentral.com...

"Lily Was Here" was released in 1989, four years after "You Belong to the City." It is reminiscent of YBTTC in some ways but not close enough to be considered copying, I guess. Perhaps the situation is similar to the way the chorus of "Footloose" sounds completely like a rip off of a riff from "Funk 49" yet apparently no one has a problem with it.

edit on 20-1-2017 by TheConstruKctionofLight because: PS Many thanks!!!

When we were looking at your thread and another one on music tonight I came across Candy Dulfer.
Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics fame wrote it). Both my wife & I knew it as an instrumental, from a movie that left an impression on us.
I read the synopsis of Lily Was Here (1989) (De kassière) and whilst I cant recall all the 000's of movies I've watched...we both reckon we haven't seen "Lily". Weird
