Defense Department spokeswoman Valerie Henderson declined to comment on the request for tanks and missile launchers, referring questions to the Trump transition team. Trump advisor Boris Epshteyn told HuffPost that the presidential inaugural committee worked closely with the military “to render appropriate honors” for Trump’s swearing-in. But he directed questions about “specific aspects” of the military’s support to the Defense Department.

I'd say that he must be serious for the "source" not to give his name. Why would he want to loose his job over mentioning and spoiling inauguration details?

What is this, a dictatorship? We both know Trump would fire the person if he was discovered to have spoken to the press. Are we not allowed to know anything?

Without the press -- our elected leaders would be able to get away with a lot more.

So in other words, nobody said anything about tanks and missiles.

I guess no one wants to suggest that the transition team wanted some backup for the mere feet on the ground of the usual cops and other security agents? Given some of the rhetoric from the vanquished Dems, you can't be too careful these days can you? The hate in the air and on the street is multiple times more threatening than it was when Obama was installed. --And that is coming from our own people!

Consider the growing threat and actual occurrences of terrorism in this country. You can bet that there are some armored personal carriers and strike force 'copters on hand if hidden from view. Some of those F-16s in the air will be armed.
