He has said that he is against abortion and thinks it should be illegal. That is one of the prime reasons he said he wants to put in super conservative justices on the Supreme Court.

He has said that he thinks the bathroom issue should be decided by state. Laws that discriminate should NOT be decided by state.

I don't think it will ever be made illegal again. We all know that the kind of woman that wants to snuff out an emerging life will do it by hook or by crook. Nobody wants back alley black market abortionists again.

However, it could go back to the states and that would be fine with me. The constitution allows for this.

You are not thinking straight if you believe these issues will have place on his priority list.

He did say he will appoint pro-life conservative judges, but he is not going to push for overturning Roe vs Wade. Nothing he has outlined in his priorities suggest he is going anywhere near it.

As for bathrooms, again, I doubt he cares.

I said this before, but thank your lucky stars he beat Ted Cruz, because Cruz would have beaten Hillary too and then you'd have really been in the s***. To expand on this, be careful what you wish for. If Trump is forced out, Pence lies in wait.

Certain states are already trying to pass legislation that makes it harder and harder to get an abortion. Yes, they are having trouble getting these pieces of legislation passed, but with new justices on the S.C., it could get much easier to get them passed. So, maybe not repealing Roe v Wade, but "reinterpreting" it.

I am aware that his priority list includes making sure people know how big his inauguration crowd was, but putting ultra conservatives on the Supreme Court is something I think will also be pretty top on his list.

He doesn't care whether trans women have to go to the bathroom that is unsafe for them - that is probably true.

Dude, I'm just trying to tell you some of the reasons why the women were marching. If Pence becomes president, or if Ted Cruz became president, they'd still be marching.

Very few people care about where transgenders have to pee - only those that have lost touch with the real issues in the world.
Yes, putting conservative judges in place will be a priority. That does not equate to Roe vs Wade being overturned. Check the Supreme Court make up on the original ruling.

The protests were about Trump. Quit trying to pretend otherwise.

Protesters have been fuelled by an endless stream of propaganda and programmed to hate, just like the hateful people I saw on TV on Saturday leading events.

Cruz would not have been treated the same way at all because he is bought and paid for. The organisers of the marches and those that fund them would not have cared one iota about 'womens issues' if they'd have had one of their guys in power protecting their corporate interests.

You are being played, and the goal is to divide whilst the real shows goes on behind closed doors.

The trouble is: he's hiring people that DO CARE and paid lots of "caring money" to have that privilege. It's called pay-to-play.

He wants a temporary moratorium on the imigration of people from predominantly Islamic countries. That's not racism.
Our last president has kept us in war with the Islamic world for his entire administration, we're done. If you disagre tell that to the families /friends of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombers, San Bernardino shooting, Orlando/pulse night club shooting, and many more....
You cannot look at someone and know their thoughts, if they want to kill you or destroy your way of life.
The Syrian refugee crisis was created by ISIS, to spread Islam throughout the world. Even a moderate Muslim supports some of their doctine.
Instead of organizing a "Woman's March" with a vague platform when will the Islamic community speaking out against the radical, fundamental views of their extremists.

You sound like Trump with those inflated numbers. It was about 3.5m worldwide.
The organisers are the ones who were paid, not the brainwashed.

Do you want your mic back?

I just saw a story about our local march on the regional tv station. I don't know who was estimating the crowd but the station reported that 800 people were marching. Now that's totally strange because two of the police officers who were assigned to "protect" the marchers say that there were probably about 300 people there. From the pictures I saw the cops' estimate appears to be correct. It makes me wonder if the reporters just can't count....or whether this type of over-reporting is happening across the nation. Campus cops claimed it was about 200. Their estimate came from knowing what a crowd of 200 look like in the same staging area as the march. About 200 showed up there last year to march for graduation.

Apparently the off chance that something bad happens.
I think it's time to come together to organise a protest against an alien invasion. We have to come together to fight the aliens.

My mom was as liberal and socialist as anyone. She once told me that 'they' would always use the threat of overturning Roe v. Wade to keep women from voting on issues that men have the luxury to vote on. She told me to never be afraid to step away from that issue when other issues matter to me, too. Of course, she would have never voted for Trump, but she would have been cool with me voting for Johnson even though he was never going to win AND even in the face of a looming conservative SC nominee.

Why? Because what matters to me is neutering this two-party divide that divides us.

The night before the election, the Libertarian ticket was polling 4.7% nationwide and my state was going solidly for Trump.

I wanted that magic 5% of the vote and a three party system. I believe achieving that goal would have done far more for women -- and everyone -- than voting for Hillary when your state was going for Trump or Hillary anyway.

ETA: AND voting for a third party is FAR MORE COURAGEOUS than donning a pink hat and marching in an echo chamber.

But to the greater point: are you telling me that all these women can see the future? Enough so that they are willing to kick and scream on day 1?

Tex, there's nothing I can say that won't lead us down the road directly to Godwin's law :-)

We don't need to see into the future - we just extrapolate from things we've all seen and heard

I joke about Rorschach tests, but the truth is we'll never all of us see things the same way. You're watching the same news as me - reading the same articles. You see the same stuff here at ATS as I do. I wish I could explain what it is that I see, but there's more than enough threads here at ATS that do a much better job than I can do here in one post

I'll just say that all of this that's happening now? It's a shot across the bow from people that see something you don't see

If we're wrong to protest? Well it's peaceful protest (with the exception of a few aholes) and history is going to be the judge of whether we got it right or not. If we somehow manage to prevent the worst, it will be harder to prove we were right. If we don't protest - history might wonder why we didn't

Trump is not Obama. Hes also not Bush (either one), he's not Clinton, Reagan, Carter, Nixon...
