Trump's pick to head the SEC has a history of defending big banks.

President-elect Donald Trump will nominate Jay Clayton, a Wall Street lawyer, to head the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to transition sources.

Clayton, a partner at Sullivan and Cromwell, has represented numerous Wall Street giants and has even defended financial institutions against regulators.

Anyone detecting a pattern here?

If Trump was a Libertarian or even a Conservative, he would begin the process of dismantling these unconstitutional agencies/bureaucracies and sending the power back to the states.

But as a lifelong Democrat, Trump doesnt understand this concept.

To make matters worse, most, if not all of his appointments are industry insiders...

If any other candidate continued to appoint the very people they claim to be against people would be loosing their minds (and rightfully so).

Trump was (and still is) the perfect play for the TPTB. The American people started to wake up. Give a man who is supposedly an "outsider," and "anti-establishment," more free radio and TV air-time than any other candidate combined - and have them "win," and thus faith of the government and (s)election cycle is renewed within the American populace. We think "this time, it'll be different!," but the house always wins.

That's how I see it anyway. Donald Trump is much anti-establishment as Hillary being innocent. They're not.

Wait a minute. It is true Ben Carson has no Government experience and has said so himself. The man has a difficult time keeping his luggage at hand. From my perception he might have once been a Brain Surgeon, but that fella has left the building. He is clearly a bad choice, but would lick tRump's boot.

Now Big Money Banker with "experience" is even worse than inexperienced. He and his cronies work for Money, Big Money, think only of money and look down on those without, always. In Trump's "defense", hes not the first to do it. Its actually business as usual for Washington DC politics.

The sec has five members not a single person in charge.
No more than three members can be in the same political party.
Currently there are two vacant seats.

Well I think you are fooling yourself about "conservatives" doing anything. Conservatives think business should be unfettered
which is exactly why they defend the banks, deregulate the banking and insurance industries (to make anything legal), and hire the most business friendly, bank friendly people possible. You really need to reassess your beliefs, conservatives are the banks #1 best friends, liberals at least believe in an adversarial position to big business

On a more direct note, for this SEC job, I'm curious, who could anyone of any party possibly pick that would be entirely competent to do this job and NOT have the 'fill the swamp' term thrown at it? Can anyone name what 'kind' of player, or any individuals for a short list? I dont claim to know, so I really am curious. On these things I do assume Trump's "picks" have a lot to do with people whom he somehow happens to know, so there is that degree of limitations for lists of nominees 'for whatever position' each go around.

Would the SEC be a job for Lawyers? And do lawyers often play at being both defense attorneys and prosecutors during their careers? That's not true. Let's keep things accurate where we can, at least.

Trump can totally be a conservative, they do the same thing as liberals when in office. They make things worse for everyone and fill our leadership and service rolls with self servicing elites.

But to address this idea that they don't represent true conservative values and are fake conservatives, why do Conservatives keep voting for them? I'll tell you why, it's because conservatives, like liberals don't give a rodents arse about what people do in office they just want their team to win.

Hurrah for the two party system, where both sides are self indulgent children voting on how best to get screwed over!
