700 year old Buddha statue revealed by water shortage

Thought i'd post this for all to see:


700 year old Buddha

Very interesting, further exploration of the site will no take place to search and possibly reveal more artifacts in the area.If it wasn't for the construction of a nearby power plant , this artifact may have gone another 700 years without being found.

The region is Fuzhou, Fujian, China.

I don't have much to say on the topic, religion, but i love when we find new/old things. I will further my search for more detail, if any members have more info , please add.

I guess they are similar to the American Presidents Executive Orders, but would have a monarch type presence to them.

Amazing, can you please tell us/me lol. how long ago the statue was really built? (700 years ago sure but what people built it) What caused the waters to rise to hide it? what caused the waters to lower to see it? I can't read the article for some reason and would love facts. What would the civilization be like to create such a piece? questions could go on and on.. not sure why I can't view!

Amazing. I wonder if it a natural or man made reservoir.

The water levels dropped due to a nearby power station being built, as stated in the OP.

The Hongmen Reservoir contains 1.2 billion cubic meters of water and has more than 1,000 islands. According to Nancheng County's governmental website, it was located on the site of an ancient town known as Xiaoshi. When the reservoir was built in 1958, 63 towns and villages, including Xiaoshi were completely submerged to create the lake.

Mermaids carved that Buddha I guess. The whole thing sounds a little fishy to me.
