So how was Carson supposed to know if Trump has interests that would get funding?

Warren was over-thinking and over-assuming again.

If she had some actual examples, maybe it's a different story.

As ArizonaGuy pointed out, Warren was "Grandstanding"... what I label as being an idiot. No way that Carson, or anyone else could guarantee that NOT A SINGLE DOLLAR of taxpayer money could find it's way into a Trump family-owned business. Nobody could guarantee that $1 of taxpayer money won't make it's way to Trump enterprises.

After resisting the urge to curse the idiot heifer out, Ben Carson gave the appropriate answer:

"If there happens to be an extraordinarily good program that's working for millions of people and it turns out that someone that you're targeting is going to gain, you know, $10 from it, am I going to say 'No'?" Carson asked. "Logic and common sense probably would be the best way.""

Elizabeth Warren asked Ben Carson if he could guarantee that "Not $1 Dollar of HUD Money" would benefit the Trump family. That was an idiot question that put her on this list. I'm sure there will be others joining her.

Yeah. Do you understand the question she asked?? Trump and his family shouldn't be making money off Government Contracts while Trump is President. It's not difficult to see the conflict there. That's what 3rd world Dictators do when they are in power. They take all the Government money and give it to themselves.

It's corruption and that is the job of Warren and others to make sure that isn't going to happen. What's the problem with that???

If you had been in Ben Carson's place and Elizabeth Warren asked you the same question, could you promise that not $1 of the taxpayer money you hand out would wind up in a Trump business? I know I couldn't. Elizabeth Warren couldn't do it either. You could give some family money for housing and food and dear old Dad figures he can double it at a Trump owned casino. Promise broken.

There is no way anyone could promise what she was asking short of not giving out any money at all.

EXACTLY...THANK-YOU VictorVonDoom for the best explanation I've heard today! (Several pundits tried to explain why the guarantee is impossible, but none better that you!)

Because there are so many of them, I'll just add to this thread as "Liberal Idiots" demonstrate why, or how they've earned that title, rather than start a thread for each. (ATS storage capacity isn't large enough, LOL.)

FIRST UP.. We have U.S. Senator ELIZABETH WARREN, Democrat, representing the state of Massachusetts.

Today, during confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet, Elizabeth Warren attempted to totally humiliate neurosurgeon, and former presidential candidate, Mr. BEN CARSON.

""Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) used her first round of questions to HUD nominee Ben Carson to highlight an issue Democrats have struggled to bring to a vote. “Can you assure me that not a single taxpayer dollar that you give out will financially benefit the president-elect or his family?”, asked Warren.

“The things that I do are driven by a sense of morals and values,” said Carson. “Therefore, I will absolutely not play favorites for anyone.”

“It’s not about your good faith,” said Warren. “That’s not my concern. My concern is whether or not, among the billions of dollars that you will be responsible for handing out in grants and loans, can you just assure us that NOT ONE DOLLAR will go to benefit the president-elect and his family?”

She made herself look like a total fool while helping Hillary lose the election, and now she's lashing out at good-natured people like Ben Carson.

Whew, man....home run with that one. A Senator doing her actual job while standing up for her and her parties principles. I can totally see your point.
That poor little angel, Ben. God bless his soul. He was being questioned and vetted for a top Government position.
They should stop picking on the poor little dear.

Yes, I understand. You mean get contracts unfairly because he also hired the guy in charge of that department??? Gee, ya think that might by a conflict of interest there???

Ya know, I'm not going to sit here and act like I need to explain any of this while you play some game and act as if you don't see the conflict. This is just childish.

That is exactly why she did ask the question. Because she wanted to know, from Carson, "Can you ignore the conflict of interest with a 3.5 billion dollar budget and not give Trump Contracts as a favor for your job?? That is what she's asking him only those are my words. But we all know what was being asked and it shouldn't be hard to answer for someone who wasn't already planning on being corrupt in their position.

So make all the excuses you want and play your games and have fun being robbed yet again, this time knowing that you chose to be ripped off. Because of your cult sickness you're now giving your money away to the crooks rather than them stealing it from you. Great plan!!

Not really... If you want candid truth, I just had a realization of how exhausting it is to have a president you like attacked all the time with made up BS. Now things have changed, and at least the fine lot who have been doing the attacking for all these years will get a big load of what they have been serving up. You guys are gonna be the one's who lose it, I mean you have NO clue haha

You're misrepresenting the question being asked just as he did. She even asked it again clearly stating that it wasn't about a dollar or 10 dollars but millions of dollars.

Carson: “If there happens to be an extraordinarily good program that works for millions of people and it turns out that someone that you’re targeting is going to make $10 from it.

Warren: “The problem is that you can’t assure us that HUD money ― not of $10 varieties but of multimillion-dollar varieties ― will not end up in the president-elect’s pockets,”

So try again.....

The question is entirely valid. And a good one, after a fashion, if you're a Democrat. She is ridiculous for other reasons, but not necessarily this one.

The problem is that there is an underlying flaw with the premise. If the Trump Empire was, for whatever reason, genuinely presenting the best possible way for HUD to spend its (well, not really its) money, then what is "less wrong"? Making the most efficient use of resources but benefiting the Trump Empire, or deliberately wasting money in order to let Fauxcahontas make a fairly vapid political point?

With the first option, everyone is a winner. In the second option, the only person who wins is Warren, and all she really wins is a bit of smug superiority at the expense of the people that HUD is actually trying to help. Guess which one she wants?

I know, I know, she can't help it, she's a Democrat, it's in her blood, but the question itself is valid enough. Stupid, but valid.

I make the same mistake as many of you are making, so don't feel bad for simply answering my initial Opening Post, without really reading it.. or anything that followed.

For your benefit, here's the part of Elizabeth Warren's interrogation that makes her a WORLD CLASS IDIOT.

""Can you just assure us that not one dollar of taxpayer money will go to benefit either the president-elect or his family?" she asked.""

You are just a partisan, that is really the difficulty you are experiencing. For example the email/Benghazi hearings were
riff with made up drama and phony outrage. That's what politicians do

Wouldn't it be ironic if Donald Trump picked Randy Neugebauer to run the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, created by ELIZABETH WARREN. According to the Huffy Post, Neugebauer wants to "gut" that agency. He was interviewed by Trump yesterday.

What's your opinion on him doing it?

Do you think it's a good idea?

What an insightful line of questioning. Im totally convinced Carson is going to work for Trump, and therefor is unfit to work for Trump!! The brilliant liberal logic never fails to impress.
