C-SPAN’s feed switches to Russian news site RT

C-SPAN says its online feed of House floor action was briefly interrupted Thursday by programming for the Russian news site RT.

The network says the problem was likely a routing issue, since RT is one of the networks that C-SPAN regularly monitors....
The programming glitch came hours after a power outage interrupted a Senate confirmation hearing for Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo to head the CIA.

Cute. For now I am gonna say it is (with just a laymans view) some internal folks signaling a political view. I dont believe (offhand) it is some sort of official Russian signal..just some leftists making a point.

Its undoubtedly a interesting way to protest though and will certainly gain attention to people who otherwise weren't really clued in on whats going on..but I wouldn't read too much more into it.


In saying that...what if it is a signal..some sort of "watch CSPAN and if this happens,enact operation whatever" type thing

I guess it would be faster just to send out a tweet about bears in spring or some such...I sort of miss the 80s mid-tech spy stuff.

If they try that during something people actually want to watch like the super bowl it will be war. It would be worse than a nuclear attack if they did that, not even Jack Ryan could calm people down long enough to figure out it wasn't the Russians in that doomsday scenario.

If he does a good job, absolutely. I will give the guy a chance, but lets not pretend he is popular. Clinton simply wasn't inspiring to get middle america out to vote for the Dems, and very inspiring for anti-hillary to vote.
