Theother odd thing about this is that all of the archive.is pages os this only have the first 3 or so pages of the dossier, the rest are blank:

Never seen that on archive.is. If those were modified, then there is some very high level ish going on.

Here is the image from the Zerohedge article:

Looking through the dossier as it is now, there are no bullet points numbered beyond 6 or so; there are several dates within the dossier that have their own unique numbering scheme beginning at 1 so I'm not sure with this one would have fit.

John McCain has admitted he was the source to the FBI, which matches 4Chan's story of events.

Source

I'm looking through the 4Chan links now.

If what they are claiming is true, this is indeed FAKE NEWS via the commonly accepted definition. As it's all a baldfaced lie. Not only are the allegations not true (which is ancillary to whether this is fake news), but the dossier is NOT a CIA document and was NOT shared with the President.

If that is true, I would hope the CIA will step forward and squash this.

How does this prove the CIA did not share this info with Trump? Cnn claims they did share this info with Trump and Obama.

4 chan is claiming they started the story, and it grew such legs as even the CIA picked it up.

I believe I misspoke.

What I should have said is that according to the 4Chan links, the dossier is not a CIA document. As in, the document did not originate with the CIA, and if shared with the President, the CIA was merely a go-between and provided a two-page summary (that we still have not seen, as far as I know) that included some DISCUSSION of this third-party document.

That's different than what I thought originally. Originally, I thought this was a CIA document that MIGHT have been compromised by the CIA believing a troll story from 4Chan.

I'd like to see that two page summary. It's quite possible that the two page summary just said, "We received this crap and can't verify it but thought you'd want to know about it."

Yeah if you read the dossier it is clearly not a CIA document.

Rather or not they shared this information with Trump and Obama is a different question. Cnn is claiming they did.

My point is the CIA isn't in the business of holding meetings with the president to tell them they found crap. (Did they hold meetings with Obama about allegations he slept with Larry Sinclair?)

The fact that it took five minutes for Cohen to prove that he was never in Prague shows that it would have taken almost no effort for the CIA to prove this to be false.

So if they did bring this up to Trump and Obama, they are incredibly inept.

Also, apparently someone from the intelligence agency leaked the info to CNN they had a meeting with Trump on this. So it seems at least some within the intelligence agency are attempting to smear Trump.

I have to agree. I am very confused as to what is going on with that document. I also tried to find the full document on the archive and could only find the first couple pages as well.

I suppose you have a point. Perhaps other factors led the CIA to want to summarize the contents of the dossier and share with Trump, like the Russian hacking or who knows what. Maybe they shared it because of who it came from (McCain for example). I'm not willing to crush the CIA for sharing a summary, especially since I don't know what the summary said, plus the fact that this was clearly never meant to be shared publicly. For all we know, the summary could have included a long list of facts that they had already proven false. Perhaps they shared it as a potential libel threat. Without seeing that summary, how do we know?

However, if someone inside the intelligence community is deliberately trying to smear Trump (could very well be true), they do deserve ridicule for that.

And if the actual full report was never shared with Trump or Obama, but merely a summary which may have questioned the report for all we know, then at the very least, CNN deserves ridicule for missing some very relevant nuance.

That appears to be the case.

And if this plays out the way it's looking, I take back everything I've ever said about the MSM being guilty of bias rather than outright lying.

At the very least (again, if the 4Chan angle proves true), the MSM is guilty of reckless reporting of unverified facts, at which point bias has crossed the line into fake news territory.

I do not believe they would have done this to Hillary.

Now, Breitbart would have... but that's alt media.

Thanks CNN. You may have just given the "all media is fake" crowd all the ammo they need.

I am more in line with you that the CIA may have done a summary for the President and President Elect and it was given no weight as the intelligence communities were unable to substantiate it.

It is very possible that the full document, not the summary, was leaked to the media by the original source (this British Ambassador/Ex Spy) as it was gaining no traction with intelligence.

Edit: I also consider Buzzfeed and Breitbard to be alt media. I am highly disappointing in CNN but at least they didn't publish the document. I think they were just trying to discuss what was now out in the open. Jake Tapper made them look bad but that can be handled. Suspend him or some such and apologize.

The head of buzzfeed doubled down on his decision.

Well, it begins.

The same type of nonsense that plagued poor Obama, has now come to the perfect Donald Trump.

Obama's fading.

Trump is the new game in town.

Watch the wild stories circulate.

I predict, they are going to prove that "Trump is gay," that "Melina is really a man", that "Trump wasn't born in the USA", no birth certificate has been released as of yet, but Trump was born in Russia, and that's what the Russians have on him, they have his real birth certificate showing he was born in Leningrad, that Trump pays all his taxes to the Russian Government, that's why the IRS is investigating where all the tax monies went...and why Trump doesn't want to release his tax info, that Melina was really a Russian Escort that the Russian mob forced Donald to marry, to keep close tabs on him for all the money he owes the mob, that Trump is really bankrupt and only Russian Mob money keeps him afloat...that's why he and all his children are divesting/or can't divest , since it's Russian money in all those businesses..that Trump is into pedophilia and people have pictures...that Trump and Hillary are a thing....and Bill is ok with that...that Chelsy is really Trump's daughter..but its a big secret...that Bill and Donald used to date each other..but fell out years ago...that Donald wouldn't even play on the same golf course as Bill these days...etc...

Last time I checked, it was still legal to pee.

Turns out I was wrong. Senior intelligence officials have now confirmed to NBC that neither the President or the President Elect were ever briefed. The document was deemed a fake.

Here's the reality for you. Do you understand that Steve Bannon directly had his news organization pull all stories related to pizzagate? Is Steve Bannon not sitting right next to Donald Trump? Breitbart has incredible penetration. The Trump administration has basked in using social media and they (and you) are well aware that Reddit and Twitter reaches far more people than any one news organization. Playing semantics and dumb like it didn't exist is no excuse. They were well aware of the impact and said nothing.

I don't know how some of you people can play pretend. This isn't about partisanship. This is about people who simply aren't good enough for the American people. We don't have equal condemnation. It's ok for fake news to hurt one political group, but people are up in arms and even this very thread finds its way into dissecting disinformation immediately because it relates to conservative politicians. No, hahaha. It's wrong and so far the Trump administration has not held to their word. All words so far. More partisan politics. Nothing changes. Get with it and realize that republicans and democrats are trying their best to represent all people. In other words, enough of the sour puss politics. Time to drown out the fanatics and partisans. Have fun though.

I would NEVER Vote for Trump. I do not believe that this new "revelation" is true. What purpose would it serve now? He has already won.

It is however a CLEVER lie because it captured two things about Trump.

1) He hates the Obamas.
2) He is obsessed with retribution and revenge viz his own words.

Well it doesn't help when one news organization is the umbrella of a thousand other news organizations. One regional or local story jammed out by an emotional editor can really taint the whole brand. CNN is a crap source to get information from anyways, but always remember that writers are still humans and many humans are honest regardless of their politics. You might get a good story on Breitbart or CNN if the author takes themselves seriously. Your best bet is to get sources from all spectrums and sources then make your own judgments and be somewhat skeptical. There's no other way. That's basically what everyone I know does.

I wonder if the right wing are being groomed to accept limitations on the free exchange of ideas under the guise of 'stopping fake news,' like the left have been.

If 'they' play their cards right, they just may get the consent of the governed through dirty tricks for the next four years.

I agree with what you've said. And I am used to having to read my way through known media bias. But the MSM has traditionally been more guilty of bias than outright lying.

When a story involves unnamed sources and questionable lineage, it's even MORE important to get the facts straight (and to be clear about them) than in a regular story with a well known source (like, for example, an official statement from the WH or CIA).

So what we have here is a story so sloppily vetted it has entered the realm of fake news.

It's true. As far as I can tell, both WaPo and New York Times are reporting on Buzzfeed's behavior and the subsequent debate about ethics, rather than the allegations themselves.
