90's sucked too.

Lol, just kidding. My perspective is more antiquated...

MTV was one of four channels on the original Cable TV; CNN, ESPN, MTV, and the "G" channel (G for Gill, Gill Cable), playing un edited movies. There were no commercials, cost 15 bucks a month.

No commercials, sigh...

at one point mtv was a great channel.
unplugged
mtv raps
headbangers ball

then the real world came on and ruined it all. that was the start of their reality show #

Hey now!
The 80s sucked! Musically anyways.
The 90s music restored my faith in humanity.

Can't wait for the current music to get replaced..... It's time....

How could you guys know?
You weren't even born yet!

My generation invented your world. We actually went to concerts, bought record albums, watched commercial free MTV.

Nyah, nyah.

As far as good music, bite your keyboard...

Even older artists made some crappy music in the 80s

Elton John
George Harrison
Billy Joel "uptown girl makes me want to punch the radio in the throat"

I'd rather they bring back liquid television, and beavis and butthead (with videos.) MTV has become such a jet-stream of bull s***, it hurts to reminisce.

I dont think you understand what i was saying. I actually found alot of badass bands from beavis & butthead. Before the internet. When reading Metal Edge or Kerrang! Or even sending two bucks with a self-stamped envelope from a flyer in a punk vinyl to receive something far from the norm, was a way to find music.

And yes, MTV is terrible. It's a shame to see what it has become. And to whoever mentioned the real world, i agree. It was the absolute downfall of the channel.

Yah, old people and their Oldies, scourged by todays youngsters, so bombarded with modern tech they become complacent. They don't know what it was like to live in the land before PCs or even mobile phones, be at a random party where the fun stopped, people went shhh, the corner tv was turned up and everyone gathered round transfixed to watch a MTV...

I have tears for fears on my phones playlist. Lol

I'm just saying we had to weed through a bunch of crappy music to find a few gems.

For every prince there was five simply reds and Millie vanillies.
