I used to think sand spurs were the worst, that was UNTIL....I stepped on a goat head!!

Goat heads are the spawn of the Devil himself! (and we have tons of them here). The extra evil goat heads have over sand spurs is, they break in half so they naturally sit upright with the main spur pointing directly up! Gawd how I hate these things!! The dogs bring them in most times. That or they get stuck in your shoes. They will puncture a tire! We have to put green goop in all of our utility equipment here to keep from having constant flats (ATV's, mowers, wheel barrows, motorcycles, etc.). Goat heads are the WORST!!

And, they're nearly impossible to get rid of. Weed killer won't kill them, 2-4-D won't kill them...not even Kill-All will kill them. We burn them (when we can burn), but even that has marginal effect.

ETA - I just got done nursing a heel with a piece of a broken goat head in it that I couldn't get out. Was favoring it for over a month!!!
