Interesting. When I was a teenager, I considered the same conundrum. But I took it in the exact opposite direction.
I figured that the past had already happened, and the future hadn't happened yet. Then I took it and asked when did the past end and become the present and when did the future begin.

Does the past end with yesterday, the present being today, and the future begin tomorrow?
Does the past end an hour ago, this hour is the present and the future begins next hour
Past minute, this minute and next minute.
Seconds and nano seconds and so forth. So I ended up with there is no past or future, only the present pressed between those because,,,,,,, this is not the past and not the future that is contemplating both of them, so it must be something else in between. The Present.

I think that the past and the future are also imaginary. There is only cheese & bacon.

Mike Tyson said "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

The past is your plan.
The present is the punch.
The future is up to you.

But he thaid it with a lithp!

What if we could remember the future the same way we remember the past?

Of course, some people's memories don't work so good. (Not mine. My memory is perfect.)

My memory is average to good, it's my forgettory that is genius.

That's a good one. Here's another classic by the Rolling Stones.

Time WAS on their side back then. They are all old now.

Ok. Cool. You've figured out that it is now. What are you going to do with that?

The enigma comes when you try and separate the past from the future. It has to be thought of as the analog function it is.
No matter how granular you partition them, you can never split them apart, and the arrow of time just keeps jogging along.

Time is like a guitar string, the present is the note, you are hitting.
